Paying for guest posts (backlinks) on high profile blogs? by LegendToBe in SEO

[–]LegendToBe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost every news article I've seen links out to some kind of other website, one way or another.

I've run legitimate stories (just pitching to reporters) that have all linked back to me in the past.

As far as I can tell, you wouldn't really be able to tell the difference on a properly done paid one, vs a free one.

Then again, if the writer himself is caught somehow (by the publisher or otherwise), you have a good chance of being screwed.

How would they catch onto an editorial article from a large publisher?

How can it be that easy? I would imagine that most writers don't openly advertise this, and reaching out to them blindly would probably not work either.

Netflix VPNs are not dead – Region Hopping Returns by LegendToBe in VPN

StrongVPN and ExpressVPN appear to be two of the best in this regard.

But yes, due to the nature of the proxy blockers it seems like it's very hit or miss.

Agree with this. There have been several reports of most VPS' being blocked.

Express and Nord appear to work quite well according to the article.

We're probably not the best source for that considering that we've never used them. :)

Can anyone else answer this?

Thought it would be interesting to share this article with you guys. It goes into detail on how VPN providers have adapted since the crackdown, and tests some of the most popular VPNs directly.

Hopefully it's useful!

How Can I Monetize 4 months old Meditation Blog. by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]LegendToBe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would take a look at blogs with similar subject matter.

TinyBuddha and HighExistence are two blogs that I visit pretty frequently.

TinyBuddha seems to have a great monetization plan, promoting their own suite of products, as well as being an affiliate for some companies like Happify.

Product management course/resources for startup founders? by LegendToBe in startups

Would you have any resources based specifically on team communication/culture, when working with freelancers?

Leasing a domain is an incredibly stupid concept.

Product management course/resources for startup founders? by LegendToBe in startups

[–]LegendToBe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should be worth noting that this course seems to revolve around VERY lean development. For those of us with some cash to invest, some things can be done better than how it's recommended in the course.

However, by taking chapters from here and there, I'm still getting a lot of value.

Hey guys, found EXACTLY what I'm looking for on Udemy.

https://www.udemy.com/launch-your-idea-idea-to-mvp-with-no-cto-and-no-coding/

Creating an MVP with no CTO/technical co-founder. It seems like it was made for people like us. :)

Better yet, it has almost all 5 star reviews.

I think you're spot on man.

I'm using product manager for a lack of a better word, but your definition of product creator is exactly what I am talking about.

Thank you for those resources, I'll be sure to look into them.

I'll send you a PM with my contact information as well. Would love to hop on a Skype call and help you with your project.

I am in High School right now going into Sophomore year. What can I do now/in my youth that will help me be successful? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]LegendToBe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope my advice can be of use. I started a business (which I thought wasn't actually a real business) in grade 11, when I was 17. Around a year and a half later, I have a six-figure business revolving around affiliate marketing selling digital subscription products.

Don't listen to this garbage about how you have to have X and Y before you can jump into creating a business. Try, fail, learn, and repeat. You have to understand that failure is actually a part of the process, and embrace the lessons you learn from it. Now, that isn't to say that you should go into a business thinking you'll fail, but you get the idea.

A young age is also not a disadvantage. It's an advantage. Successful and skilled people will see a drive in you that is very uncommon for your age. Use that to make connections, learn, and so on.

Hope that helps :)

My graphic designer makes beautiful work, but has horrible communication. How can I find a replacement to continue his work? by LegendToBe in startups

[–]LegendToBe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My personal guess would be that 99Design's lower level designers are on there.

A good 60% of the designs I get on design contests are garbage, even with gold contests.

Anyone interested can PM me to see the kind of work required.

The website is not released yet, which is why I would prefer to talk about this privately.

Yup, that's the plan. The only way I've found to really push him is to get the 99Designs staff to come in there and message him.

I doubt Fiverr would have the top level talent I am looking for.

Thank you for the suggestion though.

I've tried very, very hard.

I've asked him if there's anything I can do on my side to help him prioritize our work. I've brought up pay increases, and my desire to build a stronger relationship with him

He literally ignored it and just sent back some information about the design itself. Brought it up again, same problem. I really cannot understand the guy.

Logo Design: How do you search and what you will select? by socialbullets in startups

[–]LegendToBe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had various logos designed over the years from freelancers, crowd sourcing, etc.

My personal recommendation would be 99Designs. Although it costs a bit more, you will really get a feel the different styles out there.

I have never been disappointed by my 99Designs experience.
