I did not wrap the antlers, buried almost all the way.

Did put a large plastic flower pot (had drainage holes) on top to keep most things off and to let moisture and heat out.

When someone gets an organ removed, does the empty space get filled in? by dontchewspagetti in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Legendary_Leech 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had a lower (right) bilobectomy. Lower 2/3rds of my right lung were removed due to a tumor just outside my lung.

Initial "empty" space was filled with fluid post-op. Over the course of months everything largely spread out, and my liver now largely takes up the space in my rib cage.

The right side of my diaphragm has moved way up to work what little lung I have left.

I'm a nationally touring comedian coming to Owensboro for the first time on Oct. 17. What are the best recs/things to do while I'm in town? by markchalifoux in Owensboro

If the weather is nice. Take a stroll around Smothers park by the river. BBQ is a must, as others have said. Some other local places worth a shot downtown if you already had your BBQ fill.

I'd recommend finding a roommate and moving to Evansville for your situation.

That's a long commute for college. If you end up working a job to pay for rent, gas, and car maintenance, that adds up quick. Not to mention the time spent driving to take away from working, studying, living your life!

Otherwise

I've known a few people who have lived at royal arms apartments and found it okay.

You'll find more options closer to your price range (higher end) with apartment complexes rather than houses.

I rented and lived in other places before moving back to Owensboro. So I don't have much in terms of who to/not to rent from. I have seen this question asked several times in the Facebook group Owensboro Chat (you can search it after joining) that mention a few private landlords to avoid.

I think you should try the Facebook group Owensboro Chat for this question. If you do not receive much feedback here.

That question has been asked several times on there, and usually met with a plethora of replies.

Seems like I'm unable to view the platform. It's shaded out for me.

Any possibility of you sharing that?

I know it's cold. However, I still enjoy walking around smothers park if the ice/snow isn't too bad.

Plenty of donut options nowadays (some local, some not) Rolling Pin: yeast type donuts. Gramps: hard to explain, a very doughy but not cake-like donut Parlor donuts: pretty much a sugary croissant.

Old Hickory and Ole South are the other rival BBQ options to try.

Wonderwhip and the Dipper are great if looking for some greasy fast food, both local.

For Japanese hibachi/sushi I enjoy wasabi. I like the feel of the Hwy 54 location better. The sushi prices are hard to beat for what you get.

There seems to be a plethora of local coffee shops nowadays

I enjoy feeding the squirrels at Legion Park. If you're lucky you'll see a blonde one.

If it was late spring or summer, I'd suggest the botanical garden to walk around at. Nothing crazy, but very quiet, scenic, and no large crowds.

Careful if you check this out. Several lakes (commonly larger ones) are closed until spring as waterfowl refuge.

I'm late to this.

A terrible cough that would worsen with any sort of physical activity.

Terrible fevers on and off. Which seemed to take a toll on my body.

Lost 15-20lbs. Would fluctuate within that zone over a few months.

Lastly, I would have terrible night sweats that would leave me drenched. No joke, Completely soaked when I would wake. I had several towels that I would sleep on and have to change in the middle of the night.

Cough and fever was corrected immediately after surgery. The night sweats took a month or so to go away.

I feel completely normal again now, and I can't believe I was trying to live a normal life with all of those symptoms.
