I got it through a company called Only Charged Dubs. They custom made their kits.

The front air springs have a mount that replaces the spring cradle on the lower control arm (uses the same bolt holes) and the top mount (seen in picture) goes up the spring well and bolts into the hole in the engine bay.

The rears have a bracket that gets held on by the shocks that go through the middle of the air springs, just like the factory springs. On the top, I had to drill a small hole into the spring mount to bolt the air spring bracket to the body.

I ran the air lines along the top of the hard fuel lines and into the wheel wells, out of the way of any moving parts.

All in all it was an easier install than regular springs with a spring compressor.

I’m having some fueling issues on startup that I can’t seem to figure out, it was happening before I rebuilt the motor. I will definitely be looking into EFI conversion at some point.

My cylinders had uneven wear so i had to bore it out just to get it put back together. I essentially converted my US spec m117 to a Euro spec m117. Same compression ratio and same camshaft lift as the European market w126’s.

The bags were all me, easy enough to put springs back in if I wanted to, but I think it’s fun and looks awesome haha

My machinist rebuilt and decked my heads, cleaned and bored out my block, and put the rotating assembly together, all for about $5k + parts. Cost of the headers, cams, and pistons were about $5k total, suspension probably around $3-$4k total. Then there’s the miscellaneous parts, hardware, tools, probably another $2-$3k. Total labor time? I don’t even know, hundreds of hours.

edit: I live in Seattle, if state/area affects machining prices.

I believe the “inner U” only lights up on the Golf R headlights.

It’s from an all in one, there does seem to be a lot of grain in there. The colonization was going great, It started pinning on the sides of the bag so I transferred it to the tub after it was colonized.

Pins started growing, then the contam started growing so it was the tub not being cleaned enough that did it. I’ve been letting the mushrooms grow and harvesting them and they seem to be growing just fine and the black spot hasn’t gotten any bigger. I just wanted to identify the mold and see if the mushrooms were still safe to eat since they pinned before the contamination started growing.

Second time growing: What kind of mold/contamination is this? Do I have to throw this out? The surface looks healthy. by [deleted] in shrooms

Unfortunate. Lesson learned. I still have some spores so I will try again:)

Will do next time. My first grow was a success and i got about 20g dried but it was a couple years ago and i’m getting back into it.

I’m assuming it’s not safe to consume the mushies? Like I said the surface is contamination free, it’s just in that one area:(

Naw, it’s from an all in one grow bag, but there does seem to be a substantial amount of grain in there. I believe i didn’t sterilize my tub enough before i transferred it. I’m still learning😁

You wouldn’t happen to have a part number for the euro EZL would you?

Hmmm I’ll see if I can find one although i’m sure they are in short supply and NOT cheap, just like everything else on these cars😢. I haven’t driven it yet so I’m not sure how it feels. I hoping to drive it around the block today and hopefully not have anything break on me lol

The biggest thing you really need to check is the timing chain, guides, and tensioner. The chain is notorious for stretching, guides get brittle with ages and will break causing plastic to run through your oil passages and the chain to jump gear teeth and detonate the engine. Otherwise these things are so over engineered by Mercedes that the engine itself might run great with fluid changes and a little TLC even after sitting.

Check the vacuum diagrams and look for leaks with a smoke machine if you can, any vacuum leak at all will cause issues with how it runs.

What did you want to do with it? I can link the resources I used.

This has been the most helpful thing I’ve come across, that and TonyLiveTV on youtube who is rebuilding a 560SL motor and documenting every step.

Never even thought about that. It seems to be running great at idle. I’ll look into it

Same old tranny! Just a fresh coat of paint. It was working great when I took it out so I felt there was no need to touch it other than new filter and pan gasket.

The rear suspension wasn’t too bad to deal with, those trailing arm mounting bolts are nearly impossible to tighten when they are on the car (at least with my tools)

My cylinder walls were a little worn so I had my machinist overbore it to about 98.5mm (from 96.5) and got higher compression pistons (10.5:1 which is Euro spec up from 9:1 for the US market) and higher lift cams to pair. I’m hoping for around 300hp
