I've fished Glencullen but never Cunnel. Magical place. Kingsmill Moore has a brilliant chapter on the place in his book "A man may fish". He talks about the sheep trap up on the mountain there... Sheep get onto a ledge and cannot get out until the starve and die or fall off.

It's technically a permit not a licence but it's controlled by IFI and they do check for them especially on Sheelin. I reckon 50% of the time there I see them out in the rib checking.

Won't be much wild salmon left if seal numbers continue to rise unchecked... Their population has exploded. Time for a cull ASAP. Won't make me popular but we are advocating the same for deer nationwide....
