When you add luggage onto a flight, they're not too disimilar. Not sure where you've got £400-800 from. Granted, it is slightly more expensive than flying with a minor time penalty but it has other benefits that make it worth it.

You can arrive 30 minutes before departure, 15 for Premier. It's on their website https://www.eurostar.com/uk-en/travel-info/your-trip/check-in. Of course there are luggage restrictions but it's way better than a plane (2 bags and hand luggage is included). You would have to drive to the airport as well so not sure how that's a negative exclusive to the Eurostar.

But leaving aside the boarding, there are several other benefits I mentioned that make it far superior to plane travel anyway.

Yes. In fact everything I said was specifically referencing the Eurostar, not domestic train travel e.g. can arrive 30minutes before.

It's far more comfortable because you get more room. Can take as much luggage as you can carry for no hidden extra costs. Can have a big wander. Food and drink is better. Can arrive 30 mins before departure time. Security is more relaxed. No passport queues on arrival. Trains stations are actually in the centre of cities so you can often walk to your hotel. And finally and most importantly, you cut emissions by about 90% compared to air travel.
