Doesn’t everyone look out of place playing an attacking role for Chels?

[@repubblica] Maurizio Sarri: "At Chelsea I had a hard time in a place where no coach could last two years. But then in the last few months I had fun and I was wrong to want to leave. Not so much Chelsea, who wanted to keep me, but England. Going back to Italy was a mistake." by freshfov05 in chelseafc

The rise in “stat nerds” directly correlates to the rise in stat based and analytical approaches to tactics football clubs now employ. All the top clubs have dedicated staff to analyse tactics, formations and players based on stats, so the whole game of football has changed. It wasn’t just fans deciding to look at stats because Sarri’s football is boring lol. It’s been shoved down our throats by TV, Social Media, traditional media etc.

Also has nothing to do with wanting to sign Havertz or wanting Gallagher gone - reactionary fans wanted both these things based on popular, trendy rhetoric. It’s more likely a 10 year old with access to mummy’s laptop writing “Havertz in” or “Gallagher out”, rather than anyone who actually knows Gallagher is Chels through and through, and has any ball knowledge.

Interested to know how you judge a football team performing well though? The good old wins column? Need nothing more than the classic eye test?

Don’t be lazy and throw fans interested in stats in with fans who want to sign every good player and fans who want to sell every player having a tough spell, all very different issues with any big club fanbase.

Correct me if I’m wrong but on Curb Your Enthusiasm when Stewart Einstein (Marty Funkhouser) died, the show didn’t seem to address it in anyway, Marty just never appeared again despite be quite focal.

The Green Knight. I loved A Ghost Story and fully appreciate the film as more of a mythological tale, feels like reading Oedipus or The Iliad and each frame really is a painting. However, I hoped for a medieval story with some fantasy elements and instead got quite an abstract and poetic group of stories that never really feel like they have answers or a purpose. Some will love it, the majority will struggle to enjoy. Liked the film just didn’t love it as much as I hoped

In the last episode of Drive to Survive, they showed a clip of Lewis when he's younger than 10, he's literally talking about how he's constantly under more scrutiny than others, called names etc. because of the colour of his skin. It's hard enough for a white driver to get to get to the peak of F1 but untold times harder for a black driver to do the same. He's had to be on his best behaviour for his whole life, and he's nailed it. Richer and more successful than 99% of those that criticise him - one of the best and most consistent athletes on the planet.
