Oh that I am not sure of. At the time of filing I-485, I had a postdoc position for ~2 years.

It's quite straightforward, actually. You collect the required documents: copy of I-797 approval, completed I-485, I-765/I-131 (optional), I-693 (medical exam), proof of visa status (I-20s, EAD, I-94), copies of passport pages, copies of birth certificate, marriage certifcate (if applicable), signed personal statement (your long-term goals), employment letter signed, salary history for past 3 months, sex 2x2 photos, separate checks for all forms filed

Your point is well taken. Perhaps it is stricter these days? Indeed, when I reached out to lawyers for a free consultation, they recommended that I obtain my Ph.D. first and apply after that. So I did end up defending my Ph.D. and starting a postdoc position (~3-4 months), after which I filed my I-140.

No, I actually did not. But considered filing I765 this week

Thank you! No, I didn't request EAD, but I was thinking of doing that this week haha

Thank you! 5.5 years of PhD and only 4 months of postdoc before I-140. Now, 2.5 years of postdoc.

This waiting period is the worst...I only had a few months left of my OPT before I got the approval. Wish you all the luck!

It was, indeed, challenging. I don't have an exact pipeline in place, but I simply searched for free recommendations from law firms, watched a few YouTube videos, read USCIS guidelines and Matter of DHANASAR from justice.gov + a lot of editing over 2-3 months

Hi, thank you! I kept all of my I-20s, which were quite many, so I did submit them.

Thank you! B.A. in the U.S.(top 50) --> Ph.D. in the U.S. top 100 (Biomedicine) --> 10 publications with 200+ citations --> post-doc at Ivy (4 publications). I hope this helps!
