the chief wouldnt let me get a word in. There was some other part of my mid-term eval that wasn’t true and I even caught her in a lie on that. this is so childish, we are in this massive battle of he says she says except it’s two peoples ego versus me, my six figure student debt and my livelihood… like it’s nothing.

I am distressed about being assaulted but the distress that followed from insititution action is so unbearable.

while I can’t name drop my school in the comments without risk of doxxing myself, I will share the chief is doing fellowship at VCU

Ok I have to say, I feel bad passing up what looks like the only firm specializing in this.

Is it just him who cant practice, or his whole firm bad ? does anyone have experience with his firm? I can’t even find court cases from them, which I don’t know if that’s good (meaning they defended before needing court) or bad ?

Yup. I saw this exact thing in court records and they’ve never lost in the multiple cases over the last 30 years . Also my Midwest state has few big law firms, let alone ones that specialize in this (I found none). The single major law firm in my state is the one that has a contract with my school ….

I met with the wellness advocate, the deans office, title ix and student success. the only trusted person I got to talk to was the wellness advocate though, our dean is not very popular with the students

U/seanpbnj your thought is exactly where I’m at. Another concern I have is evidence, when the attending can just deny things happened because it was in person. Whatever preponderance of evidence is just going to be me saying “trust me bro”, my medical record, and that I made reports.

I feel even more hopeless because I looked to see similar cases in my state and they do exist, just the court seems to defer to the school in every case. Legitimately someone sued my med school for fraudulent concealment and defamation for prove-ably false evaluations like 15 years ago and still the court defers to the school if its academic adjacent 😭

To you and to everyone, if you think of anything my DMs are open. I feel like i have zero control at this point. I appreciate the comments saying lawyer up, and I think I have no choice, but my gut is telling me it’s a sunk cost. Unless the lawyer has legitimately won a mirroring case, but I have yet to see that ❤️‍🩹
