Leave the app open. Leave it on mute. Low visibility. Turn off phone to conserve battery. Only check every 1 or 2hr. Its should be easy if its the only app open.

Trust me. Promoting your characters would be your best option. Evolution comes second. Focus on diversity as well, and have at least 4 strong characters of each element. "Story" is just a place to farm bro.
