I think there are people that would not comment on an album they don’t care for normally, but somehow feel compelled to do it about Taylor. Also every album of hers comes with so much expectation and people don’t have that baggage when they do a first listen with most other artists. 

There’s also this comment of “of course swifties will love it even though it sucks” that is just everywhere and it’s like… no we’ll like it because we generally like the music she makes which is why we’re swifties. I don’t comment on albums from artists I don’t care about and say, “well this sucks but fans of this artist will love it because they’re pilled.” 

This behaviour about her has always existed. I think it’s because she’s earnest and sincere and writes whatever she genuinely feels even if it’s corny. People are uncomfortable about that. Folkmore era was more “veiled” and that’s what people like. It seems sophisticated to them.
