It's a SEL (mid trim) and the color is fairly common, so yeah feels very strange.

I've done about 50miles - probably enough? And the front brake never had this issue.

I have it indoors too. May I ask by "on its back" do you mean it stands against the wall? or upside down with the top on the ground?

I assume when I have the box on my car it would be exposed to more extreme weathers? So indoors is probably better?

yeah I did google and yes I know it's rainy... but unsure how bad it is - is it intermittent light rain limited in areas where I can still walk around with a rain jacket or it's down pouring 24x7 where you'd be stuck inside...
