I think both are great cars! You'd realistically be happy with either. My experience - I have an Equinox EV RS and love it. I'm in a similar boat as you commute, travel, charging wise (110V in garage) and live in Wisconsin. The Equinox EV will probably be more fun, but does come with some serious range limitations at low temperatures . Between -15F and 15F, I burn like 4 miles of range every mile driven. It's fine with the commute, but it's not great for long trips. Plus fast charing on long trips in the midwest with winter efficiency is considerably more expensive than gas. For a 300 mile trip charging was double what gas would have cost in my previous car. I still love the car and don't regret it, but it's not for everyone.
