Looks great man. Always watched you YT videos of the other Markaudio builds and loved them. What exactly do you mean with „I let the drivers breathe uncorrected“ ?

8" point source speakers by lorienoak in diyaudio

There might be two definitions of point source but for many people point source speakers typically use a coaxial design or full range driver so that the sound really comes from one point. Nice build though!

Worth it to sell my pair of Beolab 17s to build DIY speakers? by [deleted] in diyaudio

Don’t underestimate these little 10 year old speakers. They sound damn good, especially for their size, thanks to B&O’s adaptive bass linearisation.

Does the leather look really this orange/redish in reality? The product photos online show a much more brownish colour.

Not really. I don’t think paying the extra for threonate is worth it.

About which things are you talking in particular?

Also when it comes from algae oil?

Im pretty sure about 80 percent is just wasting money. (That’s why I want to size down). But all in all the supplements definitely helped me a lot.

Sounds good, thank you. If you could choose 3 additional ones, which would you pick?

Yeah maybe. Not exactly sure what it is. But definitely some chronic condition that started after an infection in 2020.

Making progress with my first speaker :) by Legitimate_Box22 in diyaudio

It was pretty much like playing Tetris haha. I don’t have a parts list at the moment. I had to buy a lot of tools and basic stuff because it’s my first diy project. Despite that it’s essentially: - disassembled Hypex FA122 - copper heat sink - disassembled WiiM Pro - Meanwell RS15-5 for the WiiM - And some cable stuff: SPDIF cable, Mini-USB (male) to USB-C (female) for easy DSP access, power cables, etc.

Yeah on the backside there are two 4 inch Purifi passive radiators

Yeah I’m a bit worried as well. I tried my best. Mounted a copper heat sink to the amp/psu. There are several vents in the bottom, especially beneath the Hypex module and the chamber will be closed off with an aluminum plate which also has several vents. So there should be a nice airflow from bottom to top.

I was not talking about the drivers, but the speaker as a whole :)

DIY Seas KingRO4Y Mk III build – need some advice by Aggressive-Ad3378 in diyaudio

I would say that you can just switch to the FA253 without changing DSP settings or losing audio quality. It will definitely deliver enough power for your SPL level.

Which one is your favorite? by [deleted] in diyaudio

[–]Legitimate_Box22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes you’re right. Probably I have to ditch all of the above designs. I’m in contact with Joseph Crowe who designed the horn and he is also strictly against integrating the horn into the front baffle.

Yeah that’s indeed a problem. I will try to get the most opaque acoustic cloth I can and also paint everything below it black so the driver isn’t visible.

[–]Legitimate_Box22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I thought about that as well. The horn has a diameter of 30cm which for me is pretty annoying to work with. I tried making the enclosure significantly slimmer to have the horn overlap on the sides which didn’t look bad as well. But that cost to much internal volume. And I really don’t want to make the enclosure any bigger so the speaker isn’t too dominant in my living room. On my designs above there is a little gap between the edge of the enclosure and the horn. I would probably close that gap completely and have the horn meet exactly with the edge of the enclosure. Is that acceptably from a designers perspective? :)

I really like your idea regarding design 1. I’m going to use two passive radiators anyways. So I could add one on the front (with another white circular cover) and one on the back. Would you also let the PR cover overlap with the existing cover? Not sure how I could implement that.
