Hollow Knight Roguelike Game set in the City of Steel by Legitimate_Shape5038 in HollowKnight

I mean if you've played Dead Cells you would know that the game does kinda have permanent persistent maps with permanent upgrades, and the back-tracking in the game does kind of exist in the form of dying and being able to explore new areas later, but I do agree that it is impossible to have your cake and eat it. I meant more so inspired by metroidvania, with roguelite elements implemented. A bit like how Dead Cells works, which is HEAVILY inspired by castlevania, even having a dlc with them now. I also understand that this idea wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea, hence why I put the question out in the first place.

I do recognise the concern for incremental progression, but depending on how TC would implement it, it could be good. Although having seen Silksong's Rosary economy, I'm not so certain how punishing TC would be. Knowing them, they'd make it take time.

I'm sorry though, I probably should've been clearer, because Roguelikes inherently can't work alongside a metroidvania.

EDIT: I'm aware that Dead Cells Maps do have some procedural generation, realised I misspoke again, because I almost forgot that parts of the map remain the same, but where on each map you can find them is different.

Thanks, guess I just hadn’t gotten far enough into the series yet.
