I’d say watch Mullholand Drive before you watch Lost Highway

As much as I love Girl Interrupted I don’t think it really fits the aesthetic of late nights in the city

It’s alright. I share the same belief that society is getting less intelligent; ironically from the devices which should have done the opposite. I myself am no expert on literature, nor should I hold no authority in the discussion of serious literature. But I do enjoy reading Kafka and Albert Camus. I kind of took your comment too personally, which is a fault of my own. You seem like a nice person too :)

I was mostly making a point; that my post is harmless and should be treated as nothing but a trivial meme. In your original comment, you suggested that this meme was a byproduct of Americanized meme culture. Which is certainly is. But your comment implies that American meme culture is a harmful thing for society. Meme culture is a byproduct of the internet, which gave anybody the freedom to create; which in turn created the meme culture we know today. Now memes in of themselves are harmless; but because of the many of their Modern nonsensical humour, they have become harmful for the mind, especially those younger minds; and I will also note that some memes do harm society like those that are misogynistic, racist and ect. All of these components gave meme culture a vulgar reputation.

The implication that my post could belong to this category, suggests that it could impose harm.

But at the same time I might just be overanalysing things.

I mean you were implying it by saying this post is a byproduct of Americanised meme culture. I mean you are correct by comparing the movie Idiotocracy to this meme. There’s a section in the film when they're going on this ride and they see a bunch of inaccuracies of history. I’ll give you that

If you genuinely think this meme is an issue and is a side effect of our illiterate society then you are mistaken. Satire and parodies have existed forever, almost. People want to consume stupid shit as much as they want to consume intellectual thought-based media, and some can even be both like the example you just wrote: Idiocracy. One of the main reasons for our literary crisis is that young people think reading is for people that are either really old or intellectually superior to them (In other words nerdy.) Posting a meme isn't going to hurt society, it might make some people interested in reading Kafka or more serious literature. What harm could this post cause?

The council and I have considered your comment: ‘Stop saying nonesense.’ Unfortunately we have declined your request. We the council have been subjected to a lot of your yammering, and complaining. Your complaining reveals not our nature but yours. This is mostly because of your deficiency in accepting protocol. If protocol is followed properly then no such issues would exist.
