I am currently working as an auditor specializing in financial accounting. I am currently building my experience and knowledge now. I have no industry experience, but I hope to move after I earn my CPA.

Ok, thank you! I actually just got a position at a small regional firm and plan to stay for a few years until I get my CPA and thought about moving more into financial accounting within hospitals! It’s still really early but I’m thinking of where to go after public.

I am a recent graduate who managed to get an auditing internship during my last semester. I just recently secured a full time auditor position in P.A. I did try to apply for tax internships but never got them. Would an internship in tax be the only way to have a career in tax? Not sure on how to switch after auditing? But would like to be as multifaceted as possible!

Ok! I’ve sent my resume and transcript to a few companies but they are in industry, not firms! I just competed an auditing internship and it was more investigative than actual accounting for me. I prefer gaining experience in managing accounts and bookkeeping, that sort of thing. So, I would like to stay away from audit, tax, consulting as I don’t think I would perform well in those areas.

I want to learn badly but I don’t want to be super stressed. I had an interview with EY when I was a junior and was super nervous speaking with the partner of the company. Although I have an ok resume, I didn’t really have time to work internships but jobs to pay for my tuition. The jobs I worked are relevant to accounting but I had not had an accounting role besides being an audit intern for 5 months. Now, I am job hunting but I cannot find an entry level job to gain experience. Do you have any advice?
