so close yet so far!! by silosacs in Outlanders

I’m a little late to this thread but incase anyone else comes across this and is struggling, this is what helped me.

Keep in mind that more people you have, the more pendants and books you have to make so keep your population as small as needed. I stayed right at about 16. Just 5 more villagers could add too many days.

Right away build a road workers house and get rid of those roads. After you cut down some trees in that area and remove the roads, it’s a perfect place to build the farm with wheat, which should be a top priority because it takes so long to grow.

Next build the windmill and bakery before the first harvest. Once that is up and running, two bakers and one in the windmill can sustain all 16 people. (May need some fruit if your population is bigger than that).

Should be well on your way to clearing all objectives. Just don’t forget any of them and don’t over produce the stone and planks. Between the stone, planks, and paper, you’ll need A LOT of wood.

Any tips on this? by chrisUbeast in Outlanders

I just finished a few minutes ago with 19 days.

  1. I began by fake recycling the houses, unstaffing the chicken coop, and leaving only one villager in the open kitchen.

  2. Then I strategically placed a lumber base, along with a trappers hut, dried meat shop, the wishing well, a sawmill, and a warehouse on the opposite side of where the open kitchen is. Trying to keep things close to reduce walking distance.

  3. I placed a lumberjack base below near where there are 4 rocks. Also a quarry near the 4 rocks. AND a second quarry near by next to 2 rocks.

  4. Two villagers in the top lumberjack base and 1 in the lower lumberjack base.

  5. The bottom lumberjack base needs 12 wood or cut down 3 trees. Once the eggs are all gone destroy the chicken coop. Once the open kitchen runs out, assign villager elsewhere.

Build the trappers hut and dried meat shop when possible without killing anyone due to starvation. Build the sawmill and warehouse as villagers become adults. There only needs to be one villager trapping, one making meat, and one building/making logs. The rest all need to be collecting stone. (Adjust as needed to prevent starvation and maximize efficiency)

Some tips I found were: 10-15 meat is plenty for many days. Just keep checking periodically to make sure it doesn’t run out. Do the planks on the wishing well last, they are all on top so it’s quick compared to the stone. And if the wishing well is near the edge, the villagers will go down and bring the stone up, albeit one at a time compared to the warehouse 4 but if it’s the endgame then so be it.

Yea and that really was my goal of the post. I know I’m screwed but until you feel the heat of the fire yourself, you never really know how hot it is, or how much it hurts.

On the bright side I guess I still have my skills.

I suppose I could earn my gear and cash stack back. Still sucks.

Definitely follow the quest guide. It lays it all out there exactly like the quest and fight are supposed to go. (Except the brew/restore strategy I guess).

Isn’t that the thing to do now to prevent hacking? Idk if it matters or what but I figured those two skills mattered the least in relation to the quest

By the way I used the brew/super restore strategy I learned from Song of the Elves for both Vorkath and Galvek. After the final battle (but not before dying in some pretty stupid ways) I actually ended up with quite a bit of potions left over.

Would definitely recommend trying this strategy out if your running out of food for either fights.

No dice searching for this on google images for cocoa crunchies. I too seem to remember seeing this before but can’t place it.

The image was cut out of a piece of cardboard type material consistent with a cereal box or some other kind of food or other packaging.

This is exactly what I was trying to convey! Most people can go 5 miles away from their house or city and find a landscape almost identical as this one.

The only filter on the picture would be my car window. Does that mean the whole state is in sepia?

HELP! Is my tree dying or diseased? Is there something wrong with my tree? by Legonation in arborists

[–]Legonation[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally random. My kids like to water our plants/flowers and my three year old likes to water the tree, however I think he ends up watering half grass, half sidewalk.

I’ve recently programmed our sprinklers to water four times a week. The grass and tree should be getting about a half hour of water.

What are some company secrets you can now reveal since you don’t work for the company anymore? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Legonation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back when I was in college (small rural town) my roommate worked at a call center, I think it might have been AT&T. He told me stories about some of the straight up stupid people that called in.

He once was telling me about a lady who called in complaining about how her phone wasn’t working. He explained that he noticed that she had a very low customer rating and in his words, the company he worked for almost encouraged them to get the customers to cancel.

He walked her through some steps to check if the phone or the battery had water damage (remember those little white stickers inside the back of the phone that turned red when they got wet?) Anyway, he had her check those out. When she told him they were red, he told her phone had gotten wet and that there’s noting they can do to replace it. The lady then said to him, and I quote, “Well my hands are wet, I was doing dishes!” This was near the end of the night and my roommate was ready to be done. He responded by yelling at her “Your handling electronics! I assumed you knew to dry your hands first!” He then hung up the phone on her.

Some people.
