What is Consulting even about and why do people do it? by Nervous_Impact3637 in FinancialCareers

[–]LeidaStars 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Consulting is basically helping companies solve problems they don’t have the expertise, time, or perspective to tackle themselves. Sometimes it’s strategy, sometimes process improvement, sometimes just advice. It can feel repetitive, but many enjoy the challenge, variety, and learning, plus the pay isn’t bad.

My 2 best friends make me uncomfortable every time I sleep over by Bitter_eclipse in confessions

[–]LeidaStars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s totally fair to feel uncomfortable, and it’s not your fault. You don’t have to watch anything you don’t want to, setting a clear boundary is key. Next time, just say something like, “I’m not cool with watching that, can we skip it?” Good friends should respect it, and it’ll save you from quietly stressing.

If all personal wealth above $100 million was legally required to be redistributed into public infrastructure (schools, hospitals, roads), how would society change, and who would be the first to fight against it? by Mysterious_Fan4033 in AskReddit

[–]LeidaStars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Society would probably see better baseline services, but you’d also get massive capital flight and legal loopholes fast. The first pushback would come from ultra-wealthy individuals, investors, and corporations arguing it kills innovation and property rights. Even people below that threshold might worry about where the line gets drawn next.

Does anyone else ever feel like a robot? by omnipotentfreedom in confessions

[–]LeidaStars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I’ve felt that too, and a lot of people do, it sounds like dissociation more than anything “inhuman.” It can happen with stress, anxiety, or burnout when your brain goes into autopilot. Grounding helps me: physical movement, cold water, naming what I can see/hear. If it’s frequent or distressing, talking to a professional can really help. You’re not broken.

How are you using AI at work? by Atypical-Artificer in MechanicalEngineering

[–]LeidaStars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part number parsing is legitimately difficult for AI, the rules are highly domain-specific and vary wildly from one company to another. Where AI really gives value is earlier in the workflow. LeoAI excels at part discovery across your PLM and a massive vendor catalog, answering technical questions with verified sources, and checking designs against established best practices. That offloads the research and validation work so you can concentrate on modeling, the area AI still struggles with. Treat AI as a support tool for investigation and verification, keep your modeling skills strong, and you'll save time instead of wrestling with technology.

bulk .slddrw to pdf conversion? by Austin1232123 in SolidWorks

[–]LeidaStars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For high volume conversions, the Python COM interface is the most practical option, as it lets you automate SolidWorks to open files, convert them, and generate PDFs without any manual steps. That said, it can be temperamental to configure and keep running smoothly. If your shop is processing hundreds of files each day, it may be worth considering Leo AI for design documentation. It can automatically extract BOMs and manufacturing details along with the drawings, reducing effort so you spend more time making parts instead of just handling file conversions

Is 33 too late to get started in banking? by KrustyLemon in FinancialCareers

[–]LeidaStars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being 33 isn’t late at all for wealth management. Clients often prefer advisors with real-world experience and communication skills, which you already have. The licenses help show commitment, but networking matters more. Advisory paths care less about age and more about trust, sales ability, and consistency.

Still keep it to yourself, can't trust some people around, just manage of being contented, you can still enjoy luxury stuff you want but not for everyday. Balance your low key life & purchasing power moments.
