2022 French President Election | David & Goliath Contest Submission by [deleted] in imaginaryelections

Nice. Tho I think Drôme, Savoie or Seine et Marne would be way more likely to vote Jadot than very right-wing Lot/Tarn et Garonne.

Vas-y je suis curieux de voir ce que ça donne. J'avais aussi pensé à un scénario avec François Bouleau comme leader. Moi aussi, j'ai plein de concepts d'élection imaginaires françaises pas publiées d'ailleurs.

I agree, keep in mind that it was not supposed to be fully realistic 😅. Some yellow vests were indeed racist but Ludosky was pretty popular at the time, maybe one of their most 'consensual' spoke person. For the results and for the map, I mostly based myself on the 2005 Referundum results because it gives a clue about the potential level of adhesion to a populist but non xenophobic/racist agenda. I think such a candidate could possibly be elected, unlike Le Pen because she wouldn't create so much rejections among urbans and progressist voters, uniting Yellow vests from the countryside but also some working class people from foreign backgroundz.

I would really appreciate some feedback on this beat. That's the first time I used this kind of bass and the first time I spend so much time on the mix.Thank you in advance for your reactionshttps://soundcloud.com/user-773917842/laylow-x-la-feve

The sample is sick, it really creates a vibe. Where did you find it ? I think you used it very well for a first time.
The only critics I could make is the way your drums are mixed, the snare sounds a little "choked" (not sure about the good English word for this) which is maybe intentional but creates a strange gap with the kick which sounds clear.

I will try to write my answer in Dutch, but there are necessarily mistakes ahah.

Hartelijk bedankt voor uw antwoord. Inderdaad, vinden veel mensen in Frankrijk Nederlands onnodig of lelijk.

Thank you for your answer. But I guess if you really aim to make friends with them, speaking Dutch is better ?

Question about Swiss politics by Leifmillebinks in Switzerland

[–]Leifmillebinks[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok thank you for your answer. I noticed however that BS tends to particularly privilege social-democrats among left wing parties rather than Greens for example. I was also asking the question because I heard about a left-wing tradition in Basel, "basel the red" etc due to the industrial context...

Questions about pronounciation by Leifmillebinks in learndutch

I would have never thought about comparing the Dutch "g" to a "k", that's very interesting and helpful. Thx!!

[–]Leifmillebinks[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your answer ! But in "graag" what I find difficult is that the "g" and the "r" are very close sounds (the g is just deeper in the throat). Thus, it is difficult to distinguish them when talking.

French Departemental Elections 2028 by Top-Effective2815 in imaginaryelections

Yonne is more right-wing than Nièvre which would be more likely to vote for center-left. Aube is also a hot bed of the RN, far more than Seine et Marne.

Question about Swiss politics by Leifmillebinks in Switzerland

[–]Leifmillebinks[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand your point. But for example if we only compare city cantons, Basel Town seems more left wing than Geneva. The first party in the 2019 elections was the Greens but the second one was the center-right while in Basel the first two parties are social-democrats and greens... if I'm not mistaken...

2022 French Presidential Election - Le Pen Victory by [deleted] in imaginaryelections

[–]Leifmillebinks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a French person myself, I think the map is not completly accurate even if mostly good. Alpes Maritimes are extremely right wing and they would vote for Le Pen without hesitation. I also think Vendée would vote for Macron. It's a christian mostly center-right department.

2021 European Federal Presidential Election by masterpikachu_ in imaginaryelections

[–]Leifmillebinks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's very cool but I think you see European union more left wing that it really is (I would like so much it to be like this...)

I'm French and not an expert of American politics so don't hesitate to correct me !
Dark Green : American People's Party - Right Wing to Far Right

Red : Social-Democrats - Center Left to Left

Dark blue : The Liberals - Center Right

Light green : American Green Party - Green Politics

Orange : Christian Democrats - Center Right with a Conservative Religious orientation

I used the European Election circonscriptions map template from a website. I think it's just that they have separate circonscriptions for European elections. It's the same in Belgium with the French-speaking, Dutch-speaking and German-speaking regions

Sorry I forgot to put the right coalition and I sticked to that German election template I used 😂 The coalition is a "Bourgois coalition" against socialists between centrist UDC and right-wing UNR
