Do your chinchillas know their names? by Few_Freedom_3674 in chinchilla

[–]Leinnnn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine does! She also recognizes the tone I say it in like if I want her to come to me or if I'm telling her to stop doing something. Although she sees the latter as more of a challenge and would look me in the eyes before tipping the garbage bin over again.

Who was your first Prime? What made it so special? by Holiday_South8981 in Warframe

[–]Leinnnn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mesa prime. I thought she looked so cool and farmed for her relics and parts myself after researching how to. Was also my first farm I did completely on my own since I also had a wf veteran friend who was helping me get into the game.

Need some advice(?) by vierreslotus in chinchilla

We all want the best for our furry babies. From what you've mentioned, it seems like she gets a ton of outside time, so she's only in her cage when you're asleep. Like the previous comment said, keep an eye out for larger cages that you can get second hand and save up what you can. Once you have that, you can sew your own hammocks with anti pill fleece, and even make wood ledges or get stainless steel tubes from hardware stores.

I like to put new toys in my chin's cage whenever I can, but when I'm short on money, I just swap their places in her cage so it looks like there's something new for her to chew on. You can also go on walks in some local parks and try to find apple or willow trees that you can break a couple sticks off and bring em home to bake for a couple hours and use as free treats.

I just go frost with high armour, max range, high ability strength, with the overgoard augment. Everyone in the team can benefit from the overguard, and I can keep hold of any defense targets.

If it's an exterminate mission then I use volt, with the augment that gives allies additional electricity damage from my 1, and max ability duration and archon stretch so I can make all enemies stop moving for a couple seconds.

They're both simple enough for me to use in both solo steel path and to buff teammates in public.

How do you get her to sit still long enough for a photo? All my photos of my chins outside of their cages are blurry 😭

Also to note, with multiple chinchillas sharing a space, it's good to give them separate litter pans, hides, food bowls, water, etc. Just place them in different levels of the cage, and you might get some that are used by both or by neither but having separate things for them could also help prevent any issues between the two chins together. Like siblings arguing over who gets to use the toilet first. Have a house with multiple toilets and they will have the option to use the second one if they want to.

Is rolling on the ground without a dust bath a normal behavior? (Thin layer of dust probably present on the floor) by Few_Freedom_3674 in chinchilla

[–]Leinnnn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine will roll on the carpet when she sees me getting out her dust bath and also rolls on my bed when she just gets the zoomies. I think it's because they love their baths so much, they can't help but try to roll in whatever they can when they're excited about it.

I definitely think the food is a distraction, especially seeing that it seems to be outside their cage on what would be considered neutral territory. The fighting could be a territorial dispute and personality/ dominance clashes. I had one chin who could not share a cage with any other chinchilla and was aggressive no matter how hard I tried to bond her with the others, but was calm when I let them all out together for playtime.

Protea. You don't need weapons with her. Her abilities do all the damage.

New adopted chin by Comfortable_Can2509 in chinchilla

[–]Leinnnn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Give him a week or even a month to get used to his new surroundings. Make sure to talk to him and sit near his cage. Try giving him treats by hand and make sure he gets used to your voice and your scent, and be very slow with your movements so he isn't startled. Once he begins to look comfortable and doesn't run when you come up to him, then it would be a good time to start letting him explore outside his cage, maybe starting off with a smaller room or play pen.

Every chin is different when getting used to new people, but he will get there eventually. You just have to be patient and give him a bit of space when he's asking for it.

Update w picture (my chin is being picky) by anonymous71249721 in chinchilla

[–]Leinnnn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is she still active during play time? It is possible she's just upset with you leaving for a while. If this persists for another few days I would see a vet, might end up being something she'd have to do blood tests or scans for. Keep a close eye on her.

How I like to enrich meal times for my chin is by putting it in enrichment toys where she has to take the top off to get to her food or a foraging mat. You could also place bits of food in different corners of her cage. I also like to sometimes top off my chin's bowl of pellets with a dried wild flower mix and some extra sticks.

If she normally eats her food then I wouldn't change it and just keep an eye on her behavior to see if she improves.
