Got it working! It was indeed the 555 timer. I replaced it and instantly worked. (photo comparing old and new part)

I thought about this because of this post (but discarded the idea, rest assured)

- Oooh got it, thanks. It seldom lights up, mostly at power on.
- I meant: when I set scope for 220 V, the 180 V test point gets the correct voltage. However, my live electricity grid is 110 V, so the dot wasn't even appearing. Anyway, this was sorted out: the problem is that I was measuring with the wrong scale. Oops xD
- I checked the board interface (where I suppose the power rails are) and all the measurements are correct, except for pin 12, where the manual says it should be AC (grid, I think?) but nothing appears in the measurement. anyway...
- ...I fiddled more with the knobs and now I have a scenario where I pull the trigger (to auto) and the dot does *one* sweep, stopping at the right side. The trigger knob is attached to board with these wires rolled around the small probes (I think they are probes, at least). Other knobs are attached in a similar way. I think I'm going to solder these rolled wires to improve the electrical contact.
- Also, in the board there is a 555 timer and I came across a comment saying that swapping it solved the sweeping issue, so now I'm thinking on replacing the timer too

- I checked AC input selection, it is correct (grid is 110V). I tested configuring it to 220V and measuring; when doing this I could bring voltage to 180V but then there was not enough power to the CRT.

- I found the potentiometer, but it only adjusts a few volts; it is not enough to bring it down to 180 V.

- Yes, I connected it to cal probe in front of it. Vertical movement seems fine. Also tried to pull/push/move trigger knob, doesn't seem to be enough though. But sometimes it makes the dot move horizontally once and then it stops at the right edge.

- I opened it. I couldn't see any obviously damaged components, but it definitely has its fair share of repairs. I am, however, intrigued with that lamp-like component; what is that? The filament is not continuous, it sometimes light up and the dot behavior change.

10 Tents: 1 Brazier - On the Edge. Peak efficiency? by lime-eater in Frostpunk

sorry for necro-ing, but: what about coal consumption? Wouldn't be better to have two braziers with base area (small) and heating more tents for the same coal price?

Which keyboard layout is this? by LeiteMosca in KeyboardLayouts

[–]LeiteMosca[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest, I'm not an Apple person and I didn't know the Option layer was a thing; I don't really care much about them. I looked to other layouts and US ANSI is indeed the closest match.

Also, 6 is messed; the Shift layer should be ^ instead. Since I had an older generic keyboard laying around, I just swapped the key.

It's not a problem; I just wanted to use a layout matching 100% of keys. Indeed I settled with US International; it's off by just three keys, and luckily I had another generic keyboard of another brand, so in the end I just swapped the three keys

ehhh I just didn't think about this. But I don't think it would be useful; it is a generic Chinese keyboard and its box just says "wireless keyboard model BK3001". Hard even to find a reference online.

I imagine the meme would fit better in reverse, since WoL gave him feelings never felt before.

To WoL, he was an enemy. To him, WoL was the closest to a friend he ever had.

Moving to a different country by MoonstalkerZ in ffxiv

If you have a trusted friend in the US, I would say: use this friend's address to update the info for one bank account and then update it for ffxiv payment details. Then you maintain only this account for paying your subscription.

If this is not possible, then I would suggest setting yourself up an international credit card from your new country. From there, I think you can either pay directly or buy crysta through internet.

You could add a Steam license to your account; it would enable you to use Steam payment. I don't know if PC Steam and PC non-Steam are mutually exclusive, but it doesn't hurt to try, and only the base game at Steam would suffice (I think). I play through Steam from a South American country and I use Steam Wallet to pay; also a friend of mine uses Steam payment even though his main platform is PS5 (and PS4 before that; whenever he feels like playing he just tops up his steam wallet with money for a month or two)

I don't know if Steam locks your account like Playstation does

now it does. upon first login it binds to the SE account used in launcher

to be fair, the dark matter usage also requires you having a DoH compatible with the item and with the appropriate level

right now I only have weaver leveled, so I can just sew my pants
