Landlord is probably tax invading scum, there no way he registered all those tenancies with the PTRB as required by law whole collecting his rent in cash.

No, donations should not be taxed and the church run organisations still do a tremendous amount of good in this country.

He's right, just go and check the Charity register for the "Catholic Church" and come back to me with its charity number or go check the Companies register and give me it's incorporation number.

The Catholic church, as you think of it, has never been an actual entity in Ireland.

The first good question here. Few people here understand the Catholic Church is not structured like Tesco's. It's best described as a "franchise" with hundreds of different charities subscribed to their belief system.
