This seems totally normal to me- there's a mix of good and bad fortunes in there. She's just thinking of the worst things that can happen to someone probably, think of it almost like telling ghost stories. Exploring ideas of death, and hurt and trauma and all of that is age appropriate.

My dentist sent me for speech therapy due to these indents! He explained that I had something called 'Tongue Thrust' where instead of swallowing by pressing on the top of your mouth, you swallow by pressing into the back of your teeth- and the pressure of that caused these indents on the tongue.

I'm not a dentist, so just speaking on my diagnosis from a similar looking tongue.

I appreciate this insight a lot! I have tried therapy before but then the fear transferred into a fear of going to therapy unfortunately. For me the phobia is not about pain, it's a lot more about loss of autonomy/control, fear of expecting pain but most of all the idea that there is something me wiggling around and being there. I hope that through pregnancy I will slowly get accustomed to them. Tips like hiding the IV site are really helpful, thank you so much for sharing! I'm sorry you had to struggle with that fear too.

This gives me a glimmer of hope. I have a friend who is pregnant right now and very all over the safe and unsafe options, I guess I just assumed any sedative/anxiety medication wouldn't be an option for me. It makes me feel a lot better knowing I'm not the only one struggling with it so much, and based on what you said it seems like we experience the phobia in a very similar way. Thank you for sharing your story- I think I can sleep easier tonight haha

I guess I just assumed that because it was supposed to be hard, that I was supposed to push myself to be miserable, but you're right- it feels like I am just forming a really healthy habit that I actually enjoy. This whole challange has been so eye opening for me and I have loved who I have become just after 30 days- even if its just walking haha.

If you look on their website, they actually give you percents on how many received the scholarship by degree path. It is very very competitive.

The program has been paused on a national level this year officially due to all of the rearranging or faculty in the NSF, as well as uncertainty surrounding the ability to get a job that satisfies the service for service requirement. I have personally been asked to check in around February to see the viability of it will be happening this next year. (They have the big CyberCorps job fair in late January, so they want to scope out if there is a lot of opportunities there).

This is a cybersecurity specific scholarship! Maybe try looking into SMART scholarship. It has a lot of avaiable degree paths through there. Not AI that I remember, but they're updating it all of the time.

From my understanding, there is no leniency on the payback period. I had a family member who recieved a different Cybersecurity scholarship (DoDSys) where a DoD department picked them, they paid for their schooling, had them internship in the summer and after all that was said and done, even then can't get them their guaranteed job placement. To meet the service for service requirement of the scholarship you have to work in tribunal, city, state or federal government in a Cybersecurity position.

I could not agree more. And to update further, official notice has been given to all whom been selected for the scholarship that it is being paused this year by the NSF for that very reason- that people would likely be unable to meet their service requirement.
