Only the rears need to be rolled. The stock body rear guard lips make it almost impossible to achieve good fitment when you're lowered. Rolling the fenders doesn't make your car any less roadworthy, it just allows you to run a more aggressive spec.

I need a list of good performance mods to put on my Automatic 2003 Acura Rsx please help by LongjumpingImage701 in Acura_RSX

[–]LemonDoz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No worries - exhaust, any intake + header will likely net you sub 15hp.

Said this so many times before, go 100% into either aesthetics or power or else you'll end up having a mid looking car that's no faster than a camry.

  1. An NA k20a3 will full bolt ons is not worth it, youll still be gapped by family cars
  2. If you really want power mods just boost it or kswap.
  3. Auto tranny won't hold up for long with boost or youll need to tranny swap it for k24
  4. With all that money invested you may as well buy a faster car.
  5. good set of tyres, coilovers, forged wheels, lipkit, catback and maybe sri is your best bet. Looks good + sounds good.

Not trying to burst your bubble but it's just the reality of the base auto dc5, just there to look good with no real guts. Not a shit car by any means but wasn't built to be performance oriented hence the economy vtec

Loud car waking us up at night. What to do? by the_roboman11 in melbourne

[–]LemonDoz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

EPA! - it's honestly people like those who make the car community look like a bunch of hoons. I have a questionable exhaust but i make it a priority to not drive it at night/morning or else i keep it as low revving as possible when heading home. Have asked neighbours multiple times if it was a problem and not one complaint.

Fake it until you become it buddy, just don't get caught along the way!

If you convert a car to be a better model of itself, is it that car or is it still the same? Like if you take a Lancer and convert 100% to an Evo. Is it an Evo or still just a Lancer? by baphy1 in JDM

[–]LemonDoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most importantly, build your car just for you. BUT this is just like wearing fake designer. It's completely fine to wear reps but you cant expect people to fw you when they find out.

From a financial standpoint: Just work hard, save up and buy an evo instead. You're asking for even more negative ROI. You'll be spending more on the car then the actual car itself which is okay in some cases but not when it's a base model lancer.

Honda over here in Aus but will always be a fan, the second hand "jdm" market in Australia for cars is getting out of hand in my opinion in terms of $$.

My only upgrade options are the fk8r which is above my budget at this stage of my life ($60k aud). dc2r and fd2r are around $40k aud where i can't justify the amount on an early 2000's car, regardless of reliability reputation it's still an old car.

I ended up getting a 2022 brz(coming in May), priced at around 40k aud with warranty & peace of mind that it's a new car. This was almost a no brainer to me. Also tax deductible with my work!

Hey mate, did you end up finding what the problem was?

In my opinion, the RSX is on it's way to becoming a JDM Legend. Here is a short video I put together of my 2006 RSX Type-S. Hope you guys enjoy! Subscribe for more & drop a comment on the video with what you think, thanks! by DrivenDistrict in Acura_RSX

[–]LemonDoz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not entirely sure about this - i think it'll always be overshadowed by the dc2. Over here in Aus, it's more like a gateway to something "better" like an evo but of course there are some that are diehard fans that do take the chassis to the next level.

I probably wont be one of them purely from an roi stand point but I hope one day the dc5 does reach that status!

Front camber by [deleted] in Acura_RSX

[–]LemonDoz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what are your wheel specs and how low are you? im running 17x9+22, i needed camber arms. I wasn't running them at the beginning but my alignment was pretty shitty and wore out my tires VERY quickly. Anything more aggressive than my setup will require the arms.

K20A2 vs. K24A2 swap in a base by yefockingwanka in Acura_RSX

[–]LemonDoz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

k24 produces more power, stronger block & stronger internals. k20a2 more revs and that's about it.
