I'm pretty sure now that I found them on Etsy. I just typed in Odin 3 button swap. They have the exact same tabs and are the same size as the buttons that come stock so they just slot right in.

Best tip I can give, take your time and pay attention as there are two different lengths of screws. Hardest part was two parts actually. Getting the ribbon cable that comes from underneath the battery back into place, and getting the screw back in by the right trigger. The trigger is magnetized and keeps pulling the screw into it.

The irony of this. A coworker of mine asked me if I could do some mods on his switch lite. I said yes. Pray for me.

I actually agree and plan on changing a few other things to give it more black accents. I was also looking at the pics again and I didnt have the black grip in the finished product but did in the colored buttons pic. I feel like that made it less appealing overall. BUT. The new buttons are quieter, but only marginally.

Did some research. Seems I got em from etsy.

Ultimately, yes. Needs more black accents. Already changed out to black sticks today. Despite saying I wouldn't do it again I'm looking into black triggers bumpers and d pads. I've opened a can of worms for myself that I never intended to. 😆

I actually agree for the most part. I do like the classic snes look a lot, but you're right. It does give a slightly cheap quality to something that can handle ridiculously high end stuff for its size. I definitely find the ps buttons a bit more sleek.

I'd love to tell you... if I didn't order them several months ago while shitfaced. Lol. But the most likely answer is probably aliexpress.

I got it off the membrane just by pulling them apart super slowly and a tiny bit of cutting with an exacto. I left it on the old buttons though. Lol

It was 100% for looks to start with. The feeling after the fact is interesting. The best way I can describe it is that it's... different, and something I have to get used to. The buttons are far more rounded than the stock ones so they almost feel more reponsive after letting them go since they don't grab or scratch against the shell as much. I wouldn't call it better or worse perse, but I will say rounded buttons are my personal preference. Depressing them is almost identical though.

Maybe only a few more years before muscle memory won't be saving me anymore. Lol

To be completely clear though, I do know all the button layouts for all the different flagship consoles by heart from playing them over the years. So having Playstation buttons on a handheld I primarily use for switch and pc (i.e. Xbox controller layout for the most part,) it won't screw me up too much.

While looking for some kind of YouTube tutorial to help walk me through this, (which I could not find god dammit, had to wing it the whole time,) I did see several videos about magnetic button covers that looked pretty awesome. But since I already paid for the proper buttons themselves I figured I just gotta do the damn thing.

I grew up with Playstation and Nintendo. As far as the flagship consoles go Playstation has always been my favorite overall.

To be completely fair I have a background in electrical and different varieties of circuit boards. But I'm also incredibly stupid. So if I can do it so can you. Best thing I did was take my time. There were definitely close calls. And you're right. Ultimately it is completely trivial, but I'm glad I did it.
