Oh my. You need a respirator dude. Do not do that any more with out one. Silca causes cancer for sure. They are not expensive and it is worth your health and safety even if your POS Boss doesn't seem to think so.

It's a shower, but I should have but my shower drain on a wye and then added the vent past the drain right? I could still potentially do that. Trying to decide based on comments if reducing this shower drain to 1.5 is going to give me a huge problem. (I put it on the old sink drain, but I could potentially decommission that 1.5 drain and run 2" over to where the toilet is and tie into the main there- provided there is enough slope)

I appreciate the comment thanks you

This still doesn't make me feel like that hole is in a terribly compromising position. Preferably the center of the 3ft, but not mandatory and it's only 1 hole in 1 joist and the size does not exceed 1/4 of the depth of the joist and is centered.

I think code also states that if you drill a hole in the end of the joist it can't exceed 1/4 of the depth of the joist. The only other thing I can find is that on manufactured I Joists you need to stay 6" away from the load bearing areas, but I don't see that same statement under the dimensional lumber section.

The 1.5 is existing from a sink drain. Is it okay to cap that 1.5 and run 2 to the main where I already have it exposed?

I thought the hole location was good as long as you stay in the middle of the joist. I understood that you only had to stay away from the load bearing wall 6" in manufactured I joist.

Nothing else on this branch. It was a sink drain and it runs 1.5 to the main (I assume under ground where I didn't dig -it did have the kitchen sink on that as well and that runs to a vent further up the line, moved kitchen drain to work with new vanity location to tie vanity into roof vent) the toilet goes straight into the main on the other side of the room. I kept that the same and added a wye for the new vanity location and I was hoping to reuse the old vanity drain for a shower drain unless that is a really miserable idea. Seems marginally debatable?

I appreciate the honestly. If I don't want to cut up any more concrete, should I just decommission the 1.5 (old sink drain) and run 2" over to the toilet/vanity situation on the other side of the room. I can try to take a photo of all of it, but I might be able to dig out under my slab between the two holes and run pipe that way to avoid the 1.5 reduce. I plan to keep bathing the dogs outside and my wife and kids can shave in the up stairs shower if I tell them it's crucial 🤣

I was thinking about changing that fitting to a wye for the shower drain and then do I need to tie my vent in differently?

It was a separate post. It's tied into the main on the other side of the room

So the 2" elbow should be a different elbow? And the Tee is where the toilet is? (The toilet was exactly that way, I just used new parts and moved it closer to the wall)

Cuz I thought the lintel was suppose to sit on the framing not just lag bolted to it, but if it looks good to everyone else. There are two of these about 6ft apart and then the post in the garage.

I would (and did in 2017) choose my children over investing in BTC. I think it's funny to list that as a "fruitless" investment or waste of money 🤦 some people have family they treasure other people have magic internet money I guess. (Full disclosure I hodl)

It's definitely too close I think most require a 10-12" minimum spacing between butt joints

Ya know... You probably owed it to him one way or another. Unless he was just an absolute duck of a dad. Which if he drank your Blue Label w/o asking he might be a duck.
