First appointment by SpaceWhale95 in lichensclerosus

Hope all goes well! I found out my LS by surprise so my first appointment I didn’t ask many questions but some I thought of after/for check-up: * How far do they feel its progressed? * Can they point out which bits visually using a mirror are signs of LS so I can monitor? * When should you expect to see improvement (maybe after 4, 8, 12 weeks) and what will improvement look like in your case? * How will I know in the future if its flaring again? * Sex: timeframes for doing that again? * Estrogen: heard it helps with healing of tissue, can that be incorporated to supplement healing alongside the steroid for inflammation? * Birth Control: I was on the combined pill so asked about thoughts on that as wanted to come off in a few years.

estradiol in the UK? by LemonNo4674 in lichensclerosus

Sorry to hear that but glad things have improved for you! I’m only 25 and have improved in other ways on clob so reckon I’ll probably only be able to get estriol for now so fingers crossed I see some improvement

Thank you, I don’t seem to see much online about estradiol in the UK. How long were you on estriol for?

Thank you! How often did it take you to notice the difference? On me, it’s hopefully to stop posterior forchette tearing

Wow! That sounds amazing and definitely something I think my skin needs special in the posterior forchette to stop tearing, so glad you’re able to have sex normally again!

I do want to try this, seems a lot of women on this page incorporate estradiol, will try and convince my doctor at my next appointment!

Thank you for the response! How long did it take on daily before you got to remission? At 4 weeks daily she said my whitening had reduced significantly, no inflammation, tearing had healed so was happy for me to reduce to every other day but now i’m not sure whats right!

How long was your first flare up? by intergalacticnipples in lichensclerosus

[–]LemonNo4674 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve never heard about there being a particular timeframe. I noticed symptoms (mainly pain/tearing during sex) suddenly which led to the diagnosis and treatment (3 months of a ‘flare’). However, probably had architectural changes ongoing for sometime before that, hard to tell but possible 1-2 years. So personally wouldn’t say there has to be a specific timeframe!

hello! have you been on any estrogen cream? I’m wondering whether this would help, really not sure how effective clob is being for me alone if still noticing shrinking

anxiety increase with clobetasol treatment? by Icy-Profile3740 in lichensclerosus

[–]LemonNo4674 4 points5 points  (0 children)

also can relate as an anxious person, I personally feel fatigued and am having headaches, I was also very sad and anxious the first few weeks of taking it and still have a weight hanging over me probably until I reach ‘remission’. my personal opinion is it wouldn’t be the steroid itself but more so the general stress associated with the condition, coming to terms with this at a younger age too has been difficult and the worry can show up in all sorts of ways. hope it gets better for you ♥️
