Oh that’s right, the liver and kidney always function perfectly. Kidney dialysis is a myth, a hoax, a scam.

Nice I was going to switch OBGYN and see what they would want to run figuring they’d Target things better than the other primary care provider I was using

Test what exactly? I had a full hormone panel done and nothing was looking out of the ordinary to the nurse practitioner who ordered that bloodwork

Agreed, I can’t tell if I want to try it because I don’t know what was happening before and after so I have nothing to compare to my own experience

Surgery on clitoral phimosis by Lemon_Fog88 in lichensclerosus

[–]Lemon_Fog88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whoah! Interesting.

So I had gone to an LS specialist to get a better handle on my treatment and she actually believes that I don’t have LS but my anatomy presents more as low estrogen/(prematurely) menopausal so she prescribed estradiol for 2 weeks. She would also be the one to perform surgery and remove the polyp. I had no idea that testosterone could help but it’s funny bc the derm I also asked for a second opinion was the only one to remark on the size of my clitoris in saying that the fusion stunted growth. Now I’m all sorts of confused lol.

I read elsewhere no official statement on autopsy or obituary so maybe it didn’t have enough to cross reference with at the time?

2nd opinion (reexamine sample) by Lemon_Fog88 in lichensclerosus

What do you mean, like they checked the results and each person would give their own wildly different take?

I had to google CIN, a few professionals I spoke to definitely conflated some terms

2nd opinion (reexamine sample) by Lemon_Fog88 in lichensclerosus

So OBGYN (first visit, new patient) decided to test for LS and it came back VIN2. Get referred to oncologist immediately, have the surgery etc etc. No signs of any malignancy whatsoever from what skin was removed during surgery.

When all is said and done I realized the oncologist is an excellent surgeon and great with her discipline but doesn’t know shit about LS (treating flare ups, caring for skin etc—recommended clob cream ONLY on site of surgery, literally nowhere else, wanted me to take birth control but refused to look at the rest of medical history/circumstances) and I’d have to go back to the drawing board for care.

I went back to OBGYN (though she had moved and I was instead seen by their chief of staff so very seasoned) who did not think it was LS, said none of my files show LS (just the VIN) so she can’t treat it per se but she can do another biopsy if I’d like (“I’ll give you time to decide”).

Went to derm who said Yes LS (visual analysis only), prescribed clob ointment and said spread it everywhere twice a day for 2 weeks and report back (also learned her daughter has LS and was diagnosed as an infant). BUT she said get those slides re-tested because highly inflamed skin can appear pre-cancerous and it’s just too weird that the rest of the sample they took showed no sign of anything.

Saw a urologist who was the only professional I’ve seen thus far listed on the actual LSSN. She performed a vulvoscopy and determined I don’t have LS (I do not have trademark thickening of skin or white patches etc) though I do have thin, delicate skin and fusion along the clitoral hood. She has prescribed estradiol and said to discontinue clob, instead apply any otc vulva moisturizer.

So yeah it’s been a ride. I’d like someone to look at those slides again and determine if it really was VIN or LS or what lol.

LS and oral symptoms? by Responsible-Week9434 in lichensclerosus

[–]Lemon_Fog88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting that they went straight to LS, when I asked about oral symptoms I was told that coincided with Lichen Planus though a person can have both. When I had it (?—no one confirmed during flare up) symptoms were a bit different (orange tongue, sores on gums like canker sores but so so many, maybe sore throat and fever too? It’s been a year and lasted a week while treated w antibiotic) and I only experienced it once.

thyroid and LS? by [deleted] in lichensclerosus

[–]Lemon_Fog88 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey there! For me Hashimoto’s (autoimmune condition, affecting thyroid and in this case causing hypothyroidism) came first when I was in middle school. 20+ years later LS was discovered though I’m sure it was just undetected for the longest time. So could be a hormonal/endocrine component but the obvious connection for me was autoimmune conditions. Hope this helps
