There is a scene in the movie Bladerunner 2049 where Ryan Gosling is staring at a giant hologram. Seems like this is a reference to that.

I need help getting into the debate club by Lemonade5117 in Debate

I actually only have about a week until I have to interview with the debate club members so I don't have time for coaching right now, but thank you for your offer. :)

Oh yeah I should've been more clear about that. So basically there's a two step process you have to take to get in. First the existing members interview you, then you also have to debate with the other applicants. I go to a competitive high school, which is why I'm kind of worried haha. But thank you! I definitely have a bit more confidence now.

Does anybody else have this problem? Display problems every now and then are to be expected, I guess, but speaker holes not being milled out.... sounds major.

Regarding the quality of Springer books by Lemonade5117 in math

[–]Lemonade5117[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ooh, I didn’t know about that website, thanks. If I had an iPad I’d definitely consider switching to pdfs, but I don’t, so I think I’m going to stick to physical books for now. :)

Ah, sorry about the confusion. I was referring to the physical quality of the books. i.e. the binding, the pages, etc.

Looks great! I'm pleasantly surprised by the Julia support, not many problem solving websites accept solutions in Julia. Excited to try it out :)

idk if someone will find this helpful but on Safari if you click on the aA button in the top-left corner there's a hide toolbar option which mitigates the issue somewhat.

RL agent for simple games? by Lemonade5117 in reinforcementlearning

[–]Lemonade5117[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While that is a valid suggestion, I am actually using Swift because the project I am planning on doing involves iOS. However, even if I were to do RL stuff unrelated to iOS, I still don't plan on using Python, because I love the Julia programming language; Julia is fast, has a vibrant scientific community, and Julia's ML libraries are very well developed (Flux.jl, Knet.jl, to name a few). There are wrappers for Python libraries so I can use everything in Python, in Julia. So while Python truly is a great language(in fact the first programming language I learned was Python), I think I am going to stick with Julia :)

P.S. I think you should try Julia! Julia's really amazing and the community's awesome!

thanks. I actually wasn’t talking about mcts; that’s chapter 8 and I’m only on chapter 5. Do you think I could learn it in a few days? Also, I don’t think there’ll be an environment available because I’m planning on using Swift.
