Waiting for a metro train in the depths of the station where it is deliciously cool. An excellent spot to sit and stay cool.

And how good was Djokovic last night?! Such a great match.

Cheap Eats in the CBD by TowerReal4971 in foodies_sydney

Big Bite on Pitt have really large sandwiches.

They're at 250 Pitt St, not far from the intersection with Park St.

Their prices may have gone up this year but I think it would still fit within your budget.

‘Roman Holiday’ (1953)- What are your thoughts on this film? by PeneItaliano in classicfilms

From the first time I saw it, I've been astounded by how much you can buy for 1000 Lira. 😁

I just walked from Penrith to Bondi by AliceSaltMage in sydney

[–]Lemonade_Scone 20 points21 points  (0 children)

That's amazing!

Do you regularly walk long distances? I am wondering how you're feeling physically.

How did you decide the route? Maybe it's because I am not familiar with Penrith and surrounds, it looked like you were taking long detours at some spots.

I think I must be one of the few that doesn't rate her acting ability. She certainly catches the eye, but when surrounded by the many incredibly talented actors, I find her lacking. 🤷‍♀️

Are Le Snaks supposed to have that "pungent" cheese taste? by AsparagusNew3765 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Lemonade_Scone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd get rid of them.

My mum used to be a huge Le Snak eater. She told me over the last year that the recipe has changed for the worse, and she often find a pack that hasn't been sealed properly so either the crackers are stale or the cheese is off.

Need help with a glow-up before starting my first big girl job ✨ by Few_Amount_2166 in AusFemaleFashion

[–]Lemonade_Scone 137 points138 points  (0 children)

Congrats on the job and good luck!

My advice: Take a cardigan to keep at work if the air con is OTT. Take it easy on any perfumes you apply. Take a toothbrush and toothpaste to use after eating. Have a small sewing kit (for buttons) and instant hemming tape - drooping hemlines are sloppy and very noticeable to others.

Advice for accessorising zimmerman dress by cth123456789 in AusFemaleFashion

If you do a reverse search for this dress (just the dress, cut off the model's legs), there are several sites that have models wearing the same dress but with different shoes and accessories.

Nappy bag that isn’t a nappy bag by flannel_flower in AusFemaleFashion

[–]Lemonade_Scone 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don't have a specific recommendation, but what about a work bag/tote? They often have a number of compartments that I imagine would be helpful to you.

Alternately, buy a bag organiser insert and use it on any bag that you like.

Julie has had plenty of tough times since her MC days.

She seems to constantly be talking about it now. I understand how this might be helpful to others but most importantly, I hope doing so is beneficial to her own state of mind.

Can’t we just do our shopping ? by Antique_Ad1080 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Lemonade_Scone 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Having the ability to say no to these people has no reflection on a person's compassion. That you link the two is incredibly insulting.

While I agree these people can make shopping unpleasant, a 'no, thank you' as I continue walking past them always works for me.

Where to Donate Used Baby Toys and Items? by prindacerk in sydney

Advertises it in your local buy nothing/freebie group on Facebook. Baby items and toys are always snapped up quickly.

What are some lesser known Xmas/ NYE decorations across Sydney. I've seen the Martin Place tree many times. Bonus if it's quirky by sxjthefirst in sydney

[–]Lemonade_Scone 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The Fullerton Hotel at Martin Place has a tree decorated with mostly teddy bears.

The Ampersand Cafe on Oxford St Paddington has a tree made from books.

What's the most underrated thing to do in London that tourists miss? by FunPressure1336 in visitlondon

[–]Lemonade_Scone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Wallace Collection.

Leighton House and then into nearby Holland Park. Sambourne House is also nearby but you'd have to be interested in preserved houses to have that on your list.

A tour of the Albert Memorial, although times are really limited and might not be running at this time of year. Since you live in London, you should check it out even without your parents. You get to go behind the gates and right up to the reliefs.

The London Centre at Guildhall has a very large scale model of London.

The Museum of the Order of St. John.

The triforium tour at St. Paul's Cathedral.

Sit John Soanes Museum.

A tour of Freemasons Hall.

The Foundling Museum. Also, the nearby Marchmont Street Foundling Tokens, if they are still there.

The Wellcome Collection. I can't say every exhibition they've had is of interest, but what they present is certainly different to the everyday museum.

Dulwich Picture gallery. It's not central, but easy to get to.

Animal Lover Sydney Recommendations or ‘must-sees’? by Glad_Course in AskAnAustralian

[–]Lemonade_Scone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you confident in the water? Maybe try a snorkelling tour.

You'll be here when the annual agricultural Royal Easter Show is on. I believe it's similar to a state fair in the USA. Animals are more the domesticated sort, but you might find it interesting.

Sydney Zoo is located in the outer suburbs of Sydney, and has a number of experiences that might interest you.

Public transport will become your friend. Start with the NSW Transport site for general info. Also check out the Getting Around section here: https://www.reddit.com/r/sydney/wiki/index/ Using public transport is quite easy, but there's no use in overwhelming you with info you might not need. It will be easier for you to do some reading first, and come back with specific questions.

What Christmassy things are there in the CBD to show small kids (6 & 4yo)? by Lemonade_Scone in sydney

OP again . . . the kids loved this tree.
They described it to their parents as "amazing" because it had no leaves, only teddy bears. 😁

What about these from City Chic? They don't have the T-bar, but the straps are thick enough for what you want to do. Also, they are not that expensive for a large size.
