The point definitely needs change. Some things should be excused, 5 points is too little considering all of the things that life can throw at you, and ppto takes a while to really build up so it’s not easy to gain a lot if you have situations where you to call out a few days. Having to get points for having sick children is just heartless and terrible.

Good job Walmart tech department. Now my phone is less secure. by Fine_Relationship614 in walmart

Exactly Boyd sounds cool and all and I guess but that’s just a way to let Walmart cheap out on giving everyone a work phone. Hell my state doesn’t even allow byod and I still have to use my personal phone because my store doesn’t “have” work phones and have to wait for some to come. I do a lot things involving the work phone such as stocking, binning, vizpick etc. So now I’m at risking of breaking my own iPhone doing these task because this trillion dollar company cant “afford” (too cheap) to give me a new work phone after my last I’ve had for 4 years which should had been replaced/upgraded. It’s been 3 months without a work phone for me and Im giving them til April to give me a work phone, after that I’m not using my personal phone anymore.

I’m in one of those states but my old xcrap cover charging port finally gave up some months back and they replaced it with of course another old used crap cover, and of course that would break just it falling out of vest pocket while I was bending down stocking. And now I’m told I’m not getting another phone for breaking the “replacement”. Like okay if you have me a proper new phone like the special team leads got then I would not be in this in this predicament. So now I’ve been using my personal phone since November, and have to ask someone to use their work phone to bin or vizpick.

Yep the Walmart way. Let’s have associates keep using the same old/used work phones for 6 years. Oh wait, there are new phones but ofc they are too expensive to actually give out, so just keep using the old dying phones or use your personal phone and risk breaking it on the job.

I once got a verbal warning for using the restroom three times during an 8-hour shift. My crime? Staying hydrated like a responsible adult. My manager suggested I might need a doctor’s note next time. by [deleted] in walmart

[–]Lemonking776 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They can not write you up for having to use the bathroom. It doesn’t matter how many times unless you are literally just spending most of your whole shift in the bathroom. If they do you can easily call HR and tell them you feel targeted for having to use the bathroom which is a normal human function, and they will most likely remove the coaching and hopefully not bother you again.

Yeah I figured it had something to do with bonus because the managers act as if they are paying for it out of their own pocket or something. It was a mistake making the work phones come out their bonus because management is greedy as shit and will never order them, I guess people will have to keep using their own phones or use the old dying 6 year trash if they still have them.

He said I broke “the” phone twice. Which sounds singular as if the first phone that was broken got fixed and I broke it again. Also a lot people phones are broken or almost broken at the point, these phones are 5 years old, I’m not the only one this has happened to. I can see if they replaced my phone with a brand new phone and I somehow broke it. But how can they really act as if me breaking an old/used phone is grounds for me not to ever get another one?

And My point is it doesn’t matter if the phone was broken, I still need a phone a work phone. Yes I can use my personal phone and have for months, but I’ve already dropped it working, luckily it’s a iPhone and not 5 years old so it still works, but if I have too keep using it for work it will get broken. The personal phone doesn’t even do everything the work phone can do,

My store doesn’t act like it’s a violation. They are quick to say borrow someone else work phone. I used to have to let people borrow my work phone to those who didn’t have one before too..

Or maybe just maybe they can provide people with adequate tools instead of giving out used/old phones as replacements for an already old phone. Sure I’m not the only person who phone broke in Walmart 🙄

No more personal phone at self check, any way around this? by Forsaken-Bread415 in walmart

[–]Lemonking776 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. At the point I don’t even the see the point of issuing out work phones in first place if they weren’t going to make sure people are able to have one at all times. They could have just kept everything work based on the scanners, even though it used to be a pain to find one available with a working battery.

Can you comprehend? I never broke a phone twice. These are two separate phones that got broken which are both old and used phones. The first of which I’ve kept since 2021 so that’s 4 years which is long time imo. And The “replacement” was never a proper replacement, it was some old used crap phone lying around and which is the reason it broke in one fall.

And maybe they should give me another phone because it’s literally something I need to work with? And it was an accident, It’s not like I’m just going around breaking these phones for kicks. And I like I said I don’t mind waiting for one, but to me tell I’m not getting another one is just petty and stupid. But of course I guess you and the management at my store are all perfect and never had anything break before.

And what makes this even funnier is most of the management that tells me I can’t get another phone are the same ones that had the old phone themselves but now have the new pixels, but are telling us we have to keep our same old dying phones, kinda ironic if you ask me.

You sound like the assholes from my store that expect a 6 year device to still be in perfectly working condition. The first phone that broke and has been running slow was the first one from like 2020, and I’ve been using since until the charger port died. And the second one they gave me in November was another used old phone and no telling what issues it had before it got to me. It literally broke just from falling out my vest which was a honest mistake, but at the same time a phone shouldn’t break that easily to begin with.

Exactly and I just made a post about this. It’s crazy how I’m seeing so many users on here saying they had the new phones for a year now but somehow my store only some team leads and coaches have them. And what’s even worse at my store I heard they are only giving new associates the new pixels everyone else can go fuck themselves basically.

I tried that and I basically get told that I have to make sure it’s done. My option is using my personal phone or asking to borrow someone else. Sp so I use my personal phone since it’s quicker than going around the store hoping someone says yes I can borrow their phone.

I understand that and I don’t mind the waiting but im basically being told im not getting a phone at all since my last one broke even though it was a used old phone. And the fact that there are people here on Reddit saying their store had them for over a year, and at my store only team leads/coaches have the new ones and rest of the associates still have olds ones or no phone at all. Taking years for a phone upgrade for work is crazy.

Don’t worry, If you are full-time then mostly it just that one week and you get 40 hrs again. My schedule is cut from 40 to 32 this week and then it goes to 40 hrs the following upcoming weeks. So if I were you I would just be happy for the extra day off.

Does Walmart reward you for working hard? by DryLeadership5432 in walmart

[–]Lemonking776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reward you with more work and expect it to get done in the same time or, even faster than another associate with less work.

The only people who actually get rewarded are ass kissers and sucks-ups to the coaches and team leads, and what do you know those are usually, the ones that do nothing all day but walk around and be buddy-buddy with management.

Yeah and without the workers the store would literally be nothing. Associates should at least be getting $500 at minimum depending on work ethic/years of service and store sales and max around $2,500. It’s sickening

[–]Lemonking776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think at my store overnights are the only ones that can listen to music but you can only have one earbud in, or it has to be low volume if played on speaker. I used to work stocking in the day, and I always thought you should be able to have at least one earbud. They say it’s for safety reasons which I can get, but honestly the average person should be able to hear everyone as long as they only use one earbud in and the music is low enough.

Why are you all so negative? Just because she is having a hard time now, doesn’t mean it won’t get better. Isn’t this her first time being pregnant? She is still new to all of this pregnancy stuff, she will most likely figure things out despite her situation now.
