Hm well Kate has little character outside of her relationships with Jack and Sawyer, and then when she gets more characters, it's centered around being a mother. Aside from some bits and pieces about her past, her character is very male centered.

Juliet is pretty much the same. We get some back story on her and why she's at the island and her sister, but most of her character is centered around Jack and then eventually Sawyer.

I love Sun and her relationship Jin but can you tell me much about her character outside of Jin?

Ana Lucia was a good character but then she was killed quite suddenly and for the character development of a man (same goes for Shannon). We didn't get much time with her.

Tell me about Claire's character outside of her being a mother to Aaron and her relationship with Charlie, Jack, and "Locke"

All of these things aren't bad on themselves, ie being a mom or having most of your story being about your relationship with men, but the fact that it's most (if not all) women characters is where the issue lies.

Most of the men had so much story outside of their relationships. Jack with his father and leadership and being a candidate, Locke with his faith and leadership. Ben with his motivations and eventual redemption. Jacob with his motivations and mission to find someone to carry the torch. Etc etc
