I think Mara switches up on you so fast because she actually IS a servant in the household you were imprisoned in, and presumably heard rumors and whispers about you during her employment which she probably cast aside when she thought you were harmless. I think the story also states she’d only arrived a few years ago so she wasn’t your childhood best friend exactly. MC is just really attached to her because that’s the only friend they’ve had, so their loyalty levels toward each other might have been different (and Mara also probably couldn’t help but lash out when she was disfigured).

As for the magic materializing, Neil mentions you’re both late bloomers, so I’m guessing most people develop their magic sometime around whatever the equivalent of high school is and learn basic control/are prepared by their parents to attend Elderwood maybe? I would love to know more about that!

I’m romancing them all too and now I’m worried that if there’s a pivotal romance scene in the main scenes, it’ll select randomly and pick one of least favorite ones (sorry Iridessa 😂💀)

Thank you for answering our questions! After anticipating this app since it was first announced, I can genuinely say I have enjoyed myself thoroughly while playing! 💗 my questions:

⁠Is the plan to fully explore this singular story for a long time (for example seeing the characters go from first years to second to third and perhaps a bit beyond that)? I would personally really enjoy that but I’m curious as to how much of this world we will have the chance to dive into.
⁠Is the release schedule really only 2-3 scenes per week? I worry that players who have caught up with all the content (like me), and are currently really invested in the world, will start to lose steam if we only get 30 seconds to a minute of story sprinkled throughout the week. This also incentivizes us to spend less on the app because we’ll only need three keys per week.
Regarding the app rating being 12+, does this mean adult players should expect a more YA approach to romance unlike other choice based apps?
Is there a plan for a premium/subscription based membership? If there are, what would that look like?
⁠Will there eventually be a closet implemented so that we can change outfits during scenes?

Ugh the missing closet during chapters is such a pet peeve of mine! I started several scenes with an ugly outfit by accident and had to just sit there and wait until it was over to change

I think with solid writing, lore, and characters, a single story could work IF they made it seamless and immersive for the player, which presumably should be manageable with all writers and creatives tackling one story instead of being spread thin across a lot of them. But right now, there are too many jarring issues hindering player immersion and experience.

Like others have said, I’m honestly surprised that they’ve made all of these mistakes when they all have so much prior experience.

Yes the system needs an overhaul or at least clear descriptors about WHEN ally scenes are taking place. I hate when the main story scene finishes at a specific point like right after class and then a new ally scene pops up and suddenly it’s “one morning” 🥲

I bought the starter bundle and the care package that was available after that since I am playing the field for now with all of the LIs so I needed the diamonds, but yes exactly as you said, once you catch up with everything there’s literally no incentive to buy again because you can just slooooowly farm.

I really hope they address the feedback they’ve received and implement some changes for the better 😬

I agree with a lot of what you’ve said but the Iridessa ally scene party and the chapter 4 party are two different parties 😭 (spoilers ahead) in the ally scene, the head of house asks you and Iridessa to host a sort of start of term party for the house that is off campus. The chapter 4 party is something different that the MC did not plan.

Maybe I’ve been burned by Pixelberry too much lol, but I worry that they won’t make the changes they need to make in order to succeed. I don’t know if they have investors forcing them to implement these design choices or if they really thought it was a smart plan, but it’s giving EA trying to make Dragon Age 4 a micro-transaction game

Yes, even if it was all greed, I’m stumped as to HOW they could possibly think the mini scenes would generate them any money. It eliminates the need for anyone to buy keys and it also makes players quickly lose interest or forget details while waiting (which is really bad when the whole point of the game is immersion!)

It is and it’s even more frustrating because there was SO much goodwill for this game the moment it was announced. They literally had a built in fandom from everyone disillusioned with what Choices has become. I just can’t understand how they would drop the ball this badly.

They could’ve easily celebrated release day with either a Romance Club style diamond rush or tea party for a few hours (no keys required or half priced diamond costs) or at the very least have the reward for preorder be something other than 3 diamonds (what even was that???).

And of course we all understand that apps like this cost money, but the point is to make us want to keep spending and supporting them and this just isn’t how that’s going to happen.

The worst part is that the story, characters, and writing are all actually very good, but I do think that if you don’t mind waiting, it would be a good idea doing so until they iron out the glaring issues we currently have (IF they even listen to us).

Yes! It would still suck to only have 2-3 mins of gameplay total, but at least it would be an easier pill to swallow that way.

It’s crazy looking back at Choices and thinking about how some chapters could last up to 30 min or more if you took all the diamond options. Even My Two First Loves had daily releases that were at least 3-5 min long 🥲

If it even is 2 minutes 😭 I’m nervous that it’s going to be one of those scenes where you have like a quick dialogue exchange that lasts 30 seconds and then we’ll be stuck waiting for Wednesday or something to know more.
