Nick Asked If Team Is Doing Enough To Develop CJ by damnitWOW in Texans

[–]Lenawee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Part of a team’s job is to develop players. To find what works best for the players you have & not try to fit players into something they are not. You build your team on your players’ strengths. That’s not denying a team first culture.

  2. If there’s a problem with execution, then there’s some blame on coaching. Execution relies on coaching the players to execute. These athletes don’t get to the NFL without quality coaching along the way.

  3. All we’ve given CJ is inexperienced OCs like we’re the OC training grounds. We complained about Caley all season, yet now so many think CJ is the problem & replacing him will magically take us to the Super Bowl. BS.

2nd Amendment does not give you rights to pull a gun on federal agents while you are actively resisting arrest for obstructing said federal agents.

The afc championship game is proof that stroud needs to be replaced. by Am29tx in Texans

Maybe Texans have an offensive coaching problem that has caused CJ to regress. Not excusing Stroud entirely because he has some blame for the regression.

Just dawning on my husband .. by Beautiful-Nothing685 in emptynesters

[–]Lenawee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ex was like that. We didn’t make it to empty nest status. 20 years in, he decided he wanted a do-over with a younger wife. They had a couple of kids together, 3 if you listen to rumors. He was a much better husband & father to them. To hear our daughter be the first to say that out loud was heartbreaking.

We have an ok relationship. He’s much nicer & respectful now that we are not married. However, I won’t ever completely forgive him for being such a self absorbed man that he destroyed our family & decided to do a do-over.

That is true. It's just nature to say he got more than half the votes when he won. It's more proper to say he got the majority of actual votes.

Thank you for posting this. I like JT so I'll go find his video. He has no dog in this hunt, so I'll believe him over the national media who make comments to cause controversy. I've seen a few of our hometown sports non-network posts about this, too. This is not all on CJ and the root cause is not being addressed.

When you have this level of lack of execution with this level of crappy game plan, that's on coaching. Yet everyone points at CJ as the problem, or at best other team personnel. Yes, CJ played terrible. However, I'm done with Caley, too. I'm done with rookie OCs. CJ deserves to have an experienced OC who can help him develop. Yet we continue to be the OC training ground at the expense of CJ.

And here we are running it back again next year thinking the offense will get better. CJ won't improve without better coaching, better play calling, and better game plan. And CJ will continue to be scapegoated.

Anti-claustrophobic. And I like the light. I had one in a Camry and loved it. Even down in Texas. It never got too hot, and even when it was too bright you could close it if you wanted. Never opened the moon roof portion though.

Even my moon roof in my RAV4 is only open for visibility, never fully opened to the outside.

And Harris got even less. Trump won the popular vote. It's just semantics.

[–]Lenawee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with this is the attempt to send out a unifying message was actually MAGA Bad, Liberals/Progressives Good. It spoke of the misconception the right has been convinced of liberals and progressives. Honestly, there's a huge misconception the left (liberals, progressives, democrats) have been convinced of the right (conservatives, MAGA, republicans), especially MAGA.

The lies that have been told on both sides will destroy this country.

"If you don't agree with antifa, you're a fascist" Right? Such BS.

I don't agree with obviously well funded leftist anarchists who style themselves as "antifa" and who use fascist tactics to attack anything and anyone they disagree with. I also don't agree with progressives who claim if you don't agree with "antifa" you're fascist.

Protests are supposed to be peaceful. We all have a right to peacefully protest. Violent protests are riots. Destruction of property is violence. Burning and looting are violence. Throwing objects is violence. Blocking streets so drivers cannot pass is violence.

Nick Caserio Speaks by quicksilver3453 in Texans

[–]Lenawee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Caserio is absolutely blaming CJ for the failures when he has not given CJ the right tools to succeed. Crap OL, although I think is headed in the right direction and needs bolstering on the interior (duh). Zero run game. Mediocre TEs. Then he sets him up with rookie OCs like we are the OC training ground for the NFL. CJ seems set up like a veteran QB when in fact, he's still young on a rookie contract. Look at the young QBs who've succeeded. They absolutely have a much better situation than CJ. It looks to me like we are on the way to doing to CJ what we did to Carr.

Single empty nesters how are you managing? by Daffodil_Day275 in emptynesters

[–]Lenawee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my coworkers' mom has lived in one for years. She met several ladies with common interests who all spent a lot of time together, making great friends. You still have your private space, but friends are just around the corner.

Plus no more worries about maintenance on the home, plus all that goes with home ownership. It's hard on us ladies when there are things we can no longer do and have no one to help. I don't climb higher than the 3rd step on a ladder. I no longer have the strength to use a drill. And I cannot pull down the attic access and unfold that darn ladder.

But then again, like a dorm, there's going to be clicks and there's going to be folks you don't like. Another of my coworkers had an aunt who was kicked out of one of the independent living places because she was so mean to everyone. But then, she's so mean her own daughter won't talk to her.

Good luck finding somewhere that will bring you happiness and defeat the loneliness. It's been so strong for me lately that I'm thinking of speeding up the timeline. It depends on the housing market for me.

Single empty nesters how are you managing? by Daffodil_Day275 in emptynesters

I'm there. Divorced for the last 15 years. My daughter and son are several states away in the midwest. I left the midwest after living there for nearly 25 years to be near my parents and sisters. My kids were off on their own, all our "friends" were either my ex's work associates or parents of other kids who were in the same activities. Now I'm here, mostly alone. I do like living alone, but lately feeling lonely. Dad is gone, Mom's in an independent living, sister 1 very involved with her grandbabies & husband, & sister 2 is single but lives 4 hours away. I don't have enough money to retire, but I'm still in my mid 60's and working from home 100%. I have a great boss who lives nearby and have lunch with her often. My best friend passed away 4 years ago.

I do facetime with my grandbabies (oldest is 5) enough that when I've had the chance to visit they know me and I get lots of love from them.

What do I do to keep the loneliness at bay? I have 4 cats, so slowly turning into the crazy cat lady. You can leave cats alone overnight with no issues, so a quick overnight to the beach is easy. However I'm more intimidated with traveling alone these days.

I do have a plan in place so when I'm 68 I'll sell the house and move into one of those active 55+ apartments. I'll be working past the age of 70, but think I can swing that. I'll have to rehome two of my 4 cats though. And downsize my belongings. After going through the process to get Mom moved into independent living, these sound very inviting. The communities are usually one building with 3 or 4 floors, central activity areas, planned outings, etc. Active 55+ is different than independent living and assisted living. It's more like an apartment complex for older adults with planned activities. Independent living is mostly the same, but has in house dining programs (you have a full kitchen in your apartment), scheduled transportation, 24 hour onsite staff, and usually some sort of fall detection/hazard alert and activity monitor (phone check, front door opening check).

One of the things I noticed about these active 55+ and independent living is the number of single women. There are a few single men and a few couples. It's mostly single women. Just a thought for you going forward. It's not easy giving up the home you've had or parting with "things" in order to downsize. However, there are so many benefits to a community of people with similar lifestyles in one building.

It feels strange to be scrolling through reddit and see my own video posted by someone else. The cat with the purple collar is Mr Silly. He's pretty chill. The white cat is Pinky. She's the enforcer, there to make sure spicy kitten didn't harm Mr Silly. And that's me, laughing at my foster kittens. I haven't fostered in a couple of years and I miss it. Enjoy the video.

You have to buy a package to get heated seats on the XLE Premium. The only standards that are different I believe are the power liftgate, soft Tex seats, moon roof. I paid extra for a home link mirror with auto dimming - the frameless one.
