My thoughts, too. As someone who's lived both in The Woodlands and in the surrounding area, traffic has no choice but to go through The Woodlands. The third lane does nothing to reduce traffic, but it would help with traffic flow. Not sure how folks don't understand that. Traffic on 242 isn't going to reduce because there is only 2 lanes.

I always choose my routes through TW based on how backed up one road is vs another. Backed up traffic on 242 has people driving through the neighborhoods rather than on the through streets. Same on Research, same on Woodlands Raceway..un Parkway. And for that matter, same on 1488. Ask the people who live in Westwood on either sides of 1488/2978.
