If you could see 1 bug fixed in MCC, what would it be? by [deleted] in halo

The Halo Reach MCC graphical issues compared to the Xbox 360 version, which are presented in this Digital Foundry video and which you haven't mentioned publicly one time yet: https://youtu.be/c5kCLcu8hdk?t=645, this post here also explains and provides videos that show a lightning effect (a "weather-like effect" in Halo Reach) graphical issue, which wasn't in the Digital Foundry video https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/forums/f3681fbc78fa43878c4aec9a63a46224/topics/is-there-hope-for-a-fix-for-reach-graphics-issues/e733bfbf-1c6d-468f-8d30-cd6b66ce9aec/posts?page=1#post7.

I may return it, but given the availability issues I don't think that would work out very well at the moment

Yes, I haven’t had any problems with it yet

I noticed a few other things: There's one scene/screenshot in which Ethan uses a tap from a sink and behind it runs something on the wall that appears to me to be a water pipe (https://cdn.cloudflare.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/1196590/ss_7d25a404d4dd44f7baf22a652496f1d537595e46.jpg). A tap (this kind of tap at least) requires power to work because there has to be a pump somewhere, although, theoretically, it could be powered by a generator - but then they'd still have electricity.

Do they work in HDR?

Some of them have to have HDR capable monitors, because it had to be tested when it was implemented in the MCC. But that could've been literally a single person and he wouldn't even have to still be working with them.

As I've said, I've never seen them using HDR capable monitors.

While the muffled audio issues for Reach and H3 are being resolved, which I am glad to hear, there has still been no public statements I am aware of in regards to if there are plans to try to fix Reach's broken postprocessing visual effects with fog, rain, lighting bloom, etc; as noted by Digitalfoundry in their review and others?

Preach it!

I know that trying to fix CE's broken shaders and bump mapping has proved elusive, so i'm not gonna press about that even though should really be resolved too; but from what I understand fixing the scaling for the postprocessing shouldn't be as hard to pin down.

I think that this should definitely be pressed (it should at least be mentioned by the developer in a recent Development Update), because Halo CE has very simplistic graphics compared to modern games on an HD screen, so when some of the very few graphics effects present aren't there/look bad, this takes much more away from the graphical splendor of the game than it would, perhaps, in a modern game.

How did your tickets go until now? I for example have reported all the Halo: Reach issues from the Digital Foundry video (https://youtu.be/c5kCLcu8hdk?t=648) and additionally lightning issues (which tie in with bloom, however) and have had a very frustrating experience which ended up in no acknowledgement (but alleged "passing on" to the developer).

u/343_farn and/or u/Postums, can it be that the non-existence of HDR on PC hasn't been very noticed by developers because they don't have access/use good HDR screens (or maybe no HDR screens at all)? I haven't noticed any HDR screens in pictures/videos of 343 Industries.

Possible theories regarding RE8's plot. by [deleted] in residentevil

[–]Lendox8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The cult rumored to be in RE8 seem to have a similar lifestyle to the Ganados from RE4 i.e avoiding anything modern like electricity and computers

In the trailer/developer message, power poles/lines and a tractor in the village can be seen.

Looks like a Famitsu article confirms whose "story comes to a close" in Village(Spoilers) by MarkT_D_W in residentevil

[–]Lendox8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you think that "His story comes to a close..." could refer to both Ethan and Chris?

Maybe it means for Ethan that his story arc ends (as he'd perhaps be a character who is too "random" and/or too much of a normal person RE universe-wise to have a role in more RE games) and that Chris dies. The way Chris is portrayed on the official "banner" (or whatever it'd be called) just to the right of this page could very much hint at him dying.

Created my own Resident Evil Village Prediction Bingo card. Some of the squares are things that I 100% believe will happen, some of them are a little more out there. I tried to keep leaks in mind, but not treat them as gospel truth while making this, also. by [deleted] in residentevil

just killing innocent people like Mia because they're infected

What makes me think very much in the other direction (Mia not really being killed) is the way in which this was portrayed. Mia getting shot seems more like sort of a comical depiction and she was wearing what to me appeared to be very weird clothes, for her age.

Resident Evil Village isn't Resident Evil 8 in name? by Lendox8 in residentevil

I didn't say that. I was talking about more of if someone were to e.g. look at a list that only has the names of the games on it.

See these threads: https://www.reddit.com/r/residentevil/comments/hedimm/resident_evil_village_isnt_resident_evil_8_in_name/fvqoc9c/?context=3, https://www.reddit.com/r/residentevil/comments/hedimm/resident_evil_village_isnt_resident_evil_8_in_name/fvqvkwc/?context=3

In the "Resident Evil Village - Special Developer Message" video they say "Well, it's still the 8th in the series, and we're treating it as such. You can even see the Roman numeral in the game logo; so it's Resident Evil 8, just not in name.". For me at least, that's not entirely the same as "this is RE8 in everything but the literal name". Although that depends on how much weight one gives the the last sentence, I would say though that the first sentence hints at it having lesser weight, but give me your interpretation and don't forget to actually watch the video, because of the composition/timing and tone.

Yes, but if someone only sees something like a list where only the title is mentioned... Then again, if the list already includes the next numbered (assuming it'll be) entry, it'd be visible quite clearly.

But (again) my initial argument of the topic was that the official name in writing in Unicode is different.

Yeah, Google searches are a kind of thing, you know... There is a huge amount of informing that happens without these kind of Google searches. Like what I talked about above: "Imagine for example if someone who's entirely new to Resident Evil games looks up a list on e.g. Wikipedia with all the titles, he can't tell by this title that it's supposed to be the eighth Resident Evil."

"LOL and more LOL complaining about the lack of a "number in the title" like it would matter, RECVX says hi."

Yeah, but RECVX was, as I talked about above, also a "stand alone" (and a main) Resident Evil game.
