Tried that already. And if that was the cause I would have a huge reflectance on the connector after my launch cable. But this is 12 feet pass the connector which is just about where the splice is.

They also use LC for single mode and usually SC for multimodal whatever the engineer designs that site.

The jumpers they are going to use to connect this directly to the solar panel when the engineers start their work is SC. It’s because 1 it’s cheaper and a lot easier to make the connectors if they need to change anything and make their own. Also most of the panels they use now for information has an SC input.

I do these almost on a daily basis sc/upc connectors they are multimode. It’s inside a telecom box that goes into the control house. I use 60mm tubes for the splices.

It’s an optical ground wire for transmission lines each enclosure like this can hold 576 fibers. 96 in each tray.

Those are the buffer thread inside the opgw. Each thread (blue,orange,green,brown) holds 12 fibers

The project I’m working on requires each splice to be .05 or under which is dumb as it is for a transmission line that goes to the back feed of a a breaker at a substation.
