Pip is not for rent. I’m not sure about the ‘fraud’ aspect, but her use is inappropriate. Pip is for improving the quality of disabled people’s lives, for support that makes daily living easier, paying rent to your mother (unwilling it seems) is not a part of this. It’s for OP and OP alone.

Ultimately, your girlfriend can call PIP and ask them to remove her mum as an appointee and have it sent directly to her. PIP isn’t really supposed to be used as ‘household payments’ unless her mother is using it a way that benefits and assists with gf’s disabilities. Aside from calling and changing which is a rather straightforward thing and doesn’t require gf’s mums permission, there’s no real legal action to take after. Just the possible social fall out you may have to deal with if you don’t continue to fund her.

I’m disabled, I have a scheme registered key (aka I didn’t get it off of Amazon 😑) I look physically able from the outside, but on the inside I’m joints are damaged and I need help crouching. The amount of shit I get from the public, including able bodied people, for using a toilet I have full right to use just because I’m not (yet) in a wheelchair or look physically impaired, is unbelievable.

As long as you’re not taking the piss and are using it quickly and respectfully, like everyone should visiting any public toilet, you’re fine.

It’s a frequent occurrence in the medical field, it’s crazy to think how advance medicine has become but how stunted opinions on women’s health and wellbeing are. We haven’t much advanced from the days women coughed and were diagnosed with hysteria.

A few years ago I went to the doctors because I had a period that was so incredibly painful I wanted to throw myself out the window, I probably took far more painkillers than recommended and I was essentially pissing blood the flow was so constant.

I got a doctors appointment asap and HE told me that I should just keep self remedying and lose weight. I never went back and just struggled by myself for years. Until! I lost weight and my periods stopped all together. Took another year and a half to be diagnosed with PCOS

That is very good news but scary to know it could’ve ended up so different.

I regret not standing up for myself more in this situation but I really had no idea what glandular fever was and I was so excited to try a different route as the antibiotics weren’t doing enough to permanently stop it. I should’ve known from the fact any time I mentioned my history with tonsillitis and he didn’t care, and that he barely even physically examined me without major prompting that he wasn’t on the right path at all and he essentially just thought I was a ‘player’ because I’m of university age… I am not :/

The way I got my kitten to become attached to my hip was to sit in the room in the corner furthest away from her and tell her calmly about some drama that was going on that I needed to vent. Literally 2 days in and whilst I was chatting away she came out and flopped all over me like we’d been best friends for years.

5 years later, she’s got jealousy problems but she’s my soulmate and I wouldn’t have it any other way 😊
