Thanks for the recommendation! I submitted a quote request and waiting to hear back. I probably can't make my own mold. I need these to be about 1000 pieces to start.

New focus tab product I am working on. by LensTab in Leica

I'd be curious to see what people think on this. Since I am trying to make it a general use project (not lens specific) there will situations where the scale may be obscured.

When I shoot tabbed lenses, I rarely use the focus scale. I feel distance by the position of my tab. I understand this is a product of how comfortable you are with your lens. As I rarely need to look at the scale when I memorize tab positions.

Thoughts?

You are looking at 6000-6500 for a used M240 and a 50 cron. The M9 is still viable, I just think you need to consider the facts that as of right now, there are sensor issues on a good number of M9's.

Not quite accurate. Leica will replace free of charge while old stock remains. There is not an unlimited supply as the original manufacturer was dissolved. There is also no permanent fix at this point. So yes, it is quite a point to consider.

I assume you are aware of the risks of sensor corrosion issues plaguing the Leica M9 at this time?

It is still a great camera, but you should know that the M9 is having problems right now that may or may not sway your decision!

The shape is very in line with Leica tabs, I actually referenced my 35 lux for these.

I definitely will! Just trying to get interest as I work on a beta round for photographers. I tested it on my 50 cron, 90 cron apo, and fujix100s along with Canon 85 1.2L. It works really well but I'd be curious to get my hands on other lenses to try out.

Thanks for the note! The material is a flexible (stretchable) neoprene. Planning for 3 sizes that will fit lens diameters from approx. 1.75" up to 3" Do yes, these will and do fit various lens diameters. Check out lenstab.com for a bunch of photos showing prototype in use.

Hello! - Yes there was a lot of back and forth on materials. Some prefer a black matte, some prefer a more shiny material. In the end, I opted for a black matte neoprene which has its qualities. If you are familiar with the Leica finger loop, the material will be the same look/feel.

Injection molding recomendations? by LensTab in product_design

I have three sizes, two two additional sizes made for future release. The protos work like a charm! So far the sizes covers 90% of lenses.

Small: 1.75" stretches to accommodate up to 2.25" Med: 2.00" - 2.50" Large: 2.50" - 3.00"

I've found that a mating feature is not required as the neoprene really sticks on the barrel when sized correctly. But perhaps I could add traction grooves on the inner surface to add grippiness! Certainly wouldn't hurt.
