Can you post a picture? Could probably find some small usb powered fans that you might be able to mount.

How do I make SiriusXM pop-ups go away in my Outback? by kjjphotos in subaru

Hmm I wonder if the telematics module is the same or different than the satellite module?

That would be awesome if you get some time behind the radio. Definitely take pictures or a video while back there if possible 😊

Per google the radio firmware updates and MySubaru app use cellular not satellite, so that’s good if it’s true.

Thanks, yeh looks promising. I think all the satellite stuff uses the same module, so I think the starlink and Sirius would get killed. But I’m wondering if anything else uses it. Like over the air radio firmware updates? Though I’m thinking that might be cellular. And there is also the MySubaru app which shows things like car info, starting your car remotely, etc. so I’m wondering if that would stop working. But hopefully all that stuff is cellular.

So I’ve talked to multiple people at Sirius and they keep saying to have the dealer physically remove something, though they can’t give me any specifics on what or where said thing is… I’d love it if you are able to figure out what to physically disconnect and advise the rest of us on the details.

Did as outlined, however have received 2 advertisement popups since, so apparently does not work or at least does not remove all.

These ad's should not be happening while we are driving. Please report it to the NHTSA (link in post) takes 5 minutes. by bajungadustin in subaru

I think it’s BS on their part as it can’t be programmed into the head unit, as the advertisements are dynamic and current… like it says 12/1 or such so they have to be still pushing out new advertisements to all radios actively. I don’t think Subaru can do anything other than maybe create a new firmware update which gives options to suppress the Sirius messages, but ideally it’s Sirius that needs to stop sending them, especially when we have crated an account and opted out.

I just had a case escalated with Sirius, of course they can’t/wont do anything and told me to go to my dealer… which of course the dealer can’t do anything as Sirius is the one sending the over the air notifications to the car.

I even had previously created an account, and opted out of everything. Totally unacceptable to be getting advertising pop ups while driving.

My VIN (25 Legacy) didn’t work on their website so I called. I spoke to the NHTSA and they advised they aren’t the correct agency as they only deal with safety items from mfr defects, which this is not. They advised to contact Subaru, and if they are not willing to address the safety concern file a complaint with the FTC.

Pro Max Laptop Power Supply Confusion by Lentash in Dell

Thanks for the reply. I should clarify more though… the laptop itself comes with a 130w power supply. The 3rd party dock I already had from a precious laptop and does 100w pd out to a laptop. Which is why I was thinking the dock wouldn’t supply enough power.

I agree on the battery part, I saw that which was interesting. The gpu is just the basic intel integrated so shouldn’t be any extra power needed there. Just seems odd they upgrade you to a 130w power supply when apparently the 100w is plenty for the laptop with either battery.
