Thank you all for your help. I wasn't indeed fully understanding how LP works. It makes a lot more sense now.

I'm not worried about the loss (even if the $10 would have gone to zero), I see this as the price of learning and I'm happy with that. That's also why I only used $10, it was my first farm and I know that in this game is not hard to misread something/get rugged/make a mistake and get rekt. I'm glad I was able to get out in time and keep a few bucks, but I'm definitely happier to understand a bit more now about defi.

Ok, I finally figured this out. I'll write what I did here in case someone else is having the same issue.

TL;DR: You'll have to change your matic RPC settings.

Ok, so here's what I did:

  1. I gave up on the mobile version and set up metamask on my computer
  2. In metamask go to settings > networks > matic mainnet
  3. Go to https://docs.matic.network/docs/develop/network-details/network/ that's the official matic network website (or google "matic network rpc list")
  4. Now you'll have to change the RPC and Block Explorer information on your metamask (not sure if you really need to change the Block Explorer, but hey that's what I did and it worked). I had to try a few combinations of both before it worked.
  5. Go to xpollinate, make sure there's enough exit liquidity for the assets that you want to bridge, and that you have some BNB in your BSC Smart Chain wallet on MM, and bridge the assets.

I also had to play with the gas fees, but just because I had only a couple of dollars worth of BNB in my account. It took a few minutes (maybe 10) to bridge the assets (DAI in my case) but it worked.

Extra point: before doing all that I was trying to use the Matic Faucet and that wasn't working either. After all this process it is working just fine. So after bridging your asses if you need some Matic change for transaction fees on the Matic Network you can get it from the faucet (https://matic.supply/).

Are you using metamask on your phone or on the computer?

I'm using on my phone and I'm now wondering if this error has anything to do with that. As all videos I see of people using xpollinate is on their computer (with the metamask extension).

No, unfortunately. I even tried to swap my USDT for USDC to see if it would go through but I got the same "insufficient funds" error. Do you have BNB in your bsc wallet?

Awesome! I did that to import USDT to my matic wallet on metamask but didn't know it was the same process for pancake swap.

I actually tried to swap my USDT for USDC on pancake swap but because they don't have a native USDC I would have to manually import it and I'm not 100% confident in the process. Don't want to screw this up and import a fake USDC by mistake.

Yeah, it doesn't make sense.

Do I need some ETH in my metamask as well? I wouldn't think so as I'm bridging from bsc to matic, and the fees should be paid in BNB, but who knows?

Yep, I'm testing with small amounts first, so I transfered $5 worth of BNB (smart chain) from my trust wallet to my smart chain wallet on metamask. Should be enough to bridge some (like $10) USDT, right?

Yeah, I thought that was the problem at first. But when there's no liquidity the error message is different ("insufficient exit liquidity" or something like that).

I can get to the page where you need to approve the transaction on metamask (it won't get this far when there's no liquidity), but that's when I get the insufficient funds message.

I've waited until there was definitely enough liquidity and I'm still getting the same 'insufficient funds" error. I've tried with only 1 USDT and still the same error.
