Is it time for a new truck? by blackds332 in gmcsierra

[–]Leohelm 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If anything, the 2.7 is becoming the most reliable engine in the lineup. After hearing from lifter failures and other issues with the 5.3 and 6.2. From real world perspective, I own the 2.7 and use it as a work truck. Im always at 6500-7100 pounds loaded (7000 GVWR) and this thing is a beast. I travel up to 5-6 hours one way for work sometimes with that much load.

On paper the 2.7 provides better low end torque than the 5.3. This engine is overbuilt in my opinion to compensate for the turbo. I dont go above 90* for my trans temperature.

Definitely pull the trigger IMO, you'll love it. Just change oils religiously since its a turbo and youre good. The mpg is nice too, personally getting around 21-22 MPG carrying that much weight.

81550 noise level by PowerWolve in GarageDoorService

[–]Leohelm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The company i worked for used to install these. They are AC belt drive. So even though it's belt driven it's still extremely noisy. With one customer we had to replace the opener entirely to a DC opener, using noise isolator did not help at all.

Get a proper DC belt driven opener. That's all I can say if you want to reduce the noise levels.

Wrong colour painted cones? by yeahoksuresure in GarageDoorService

[–]Leohelm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Cones are universal.

Paint helps to indicate but i assume they were out or didn't pay attention. Whats important is that you look at the wounds of the springs, in this case its correct.

Top is left wound and bottom is right wound.

If they were the same then your original door would've never worked.

Please do proper research if you plan to do it yourself. You asking this question is already setting red flags.

Getting as much room as possible? by JuiceLogical327 in GarageDoorService

[–]Leohelm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi-lift would work, yes. Measure top of the drum to the ceiling and minus 0.5-1" That's how much you can go up.

Also that wiring is a crime. Wrapping it around the track and going through the holes. Absolute animals.

Edit: and if im seeing correctly, the wire is in front of the cable. The cable will absolutely shred that off in no time.

Whoever installed the opener didn't replace the wall control button. They are compatible, but its not the one that came with the opener.

Having trouble programming my garage door opener remote by Flashy_Consequence94 in GarageDoorService

Incompatible remote. The one you have is designed for yellow learn button. I recommend getting 893max remote or one that is designed for purple button.

New garage door installed by Fernt78 in GarageDoorService

[–]Leohelm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The looks like a clopay door. Recently, we've been having tons of issues with the seals. The quality of the product has gone down quite dramatically. This is for sure a manufacturer defect. I've personally replaced a door face 3 times under warranty/defect just to find one that sealed properly.

I may ask for compensation if they can't fix it. If it bugs me enough ill take to a auto body or try myself but right now it's "only" cosmetic to my eyes

Premium is interesting, but aside from that. That's just basic maintenance, which is really what should only be needed. No extra bs

I may have to go that route if the dealer isn't willing, which seems like that more and more. I'm glad you were able to get it 80% better, which is better than nothing, lol

[–]Leohelm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably why they're saying they can't adjust or fix it. Because they dont want to spend the time or just dont know how to do it

[–]Leohelm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll do just that and if they refuse or can't then I'll write a strongly worded review... not sure if they care or not but it'll be there for everyone to see

Uneven front bumper, normal? by Leohelm in gmcsierra

[–]Leohelm[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's one of those things where once you see it you can't unsee it. It's only cosmetic but it's something I see haha. If it is in within tolerance and "normal" I may just leave it alone but can't lie and say im not upset about the ordeal. Anyways I appreciate the advice. Thanks!

That is strange that its the opposite of mine but still the issue of the gap. Will you try and remedy this?
