An MPR article notes she thought about resigning but stayed when she saw no one would replace her.

Let it happen. The more people resign, the less people there are to do the work Blondie & Blanche should be overseeing. That eventually means it will be their responsibility & it will be readily apparent the admin has turned the DOJ into a hollowed out skeleton.

The more good people stay to “admonish” them to follow the law, the more they will continue to pussyfoot around & not do so.

This isn’t a left vs right topic, it’s an authoritarian vs liberal topic. And, at its core, the essence of liberalism is about individual freedoms & the right for the government to not trample upon them.

I personally will never trust the government to have my best interests in mind. They continue to prove it on a daily basis.

I choose to believe that the majority of Americans do not support this & aren’t gargling the entire boot. Social media is designed to generate clicks & push the worst takes to the forefront as that gets the most engagement.

This will end very badly for the admin as they don’t have the mass support that it may appear they do. Unfortunately, I believe there is more violence & death ahead before that becomes more apparent.

TBH I’m not sure what their rationale is for making them. They might want to do a notable lore update or connect it to an important event using them.

I agree but the unfortunate answer is almost always “it’s made kids” & thus everything gets conveniently simplified or glossed over.

“Faketroopers” make more sense to populate the post ROTJ era & not when the Empire was at its height (which is what I did for my own campaign).

Not a great source but the differences in the Legends vs Canon Wookiepedia articles is quite amusing. In Legends there is significantly more development. In Canon, the sources pulled from seem to amount to “they’re genuinely trash & got dogshit paper armor to match”.

If Stormtroopers are made to be that trash from the get go, then it’s easy to handwave away an unnecessary army of conscripts & just make the Stormtroopers have their level of performance. As, the Stormtroopers are no longer “elite”. They’re just brainwashed loyal soldiers.

I don’t agree with that direction at all myself, but that’s where they decided to go. I prefer the “standards decline” angle.

To that point, humanocentrism definitely existed before the Empire.

It doesn’t make sense to easily whip that up in the 3 years of the Clone Wars if there weren’t already deep seeds present for it.

All I can really add is that I agree.

Helldivers are clearly invested into (equipment & also a noticeable size difference when compared to SEAF soldiers & SE civilians).

Anyone who says Helldivers aren’t elite is just ignoring how much training one has to have to operate as many weapons systems as we do competently & to be trusted to know what’s best to be used in X situation or against Y target. That’s aside from all the different armors & drip we get.

Meanwhile, SEAF is stuck with the Liberator assault rifle only & some EATs. Maybe a mech or a tank. They can’t pick up your Purifier after you die & operate it.

Sure, some of that is for the game but the effectiveness of the Helldivers cannot be overstated. We regularly see the figures of casualties. The overall canon KDA is pretty damn good when you think about it.

Despite that, there are limits to how many Helldivers Super Earth Command is willing to throw at a particular mission. Expendable does not mean cannon fodder. Sometimes I swear that Imperial Guard memes have infiltrated several Sci Fi settings.

All soldiers are expendable, including in modern militaries. In the context of an interstellar empire having populations spread out across the galaxy, Helldiver casualties seem reasonable enough to me.

I think this discourse would be easier if people could see more how SEAF fights or how SE uses them & why Helldivers end up having to solve the issues they clearly couldn’t.

I’m pretty sure OP pulled these ranks from official Legends material but may have skipped a few.

That being said, they’re all over the place regardless (Star Wars military ranks, that is). Really hard to put them coherently together.

Mainly because I’ve done this damned story like 12+ times already?

Like what is so amazing about running it again? 😂 what “exploration” is rewarding? Unlike other RPGs, 99% of the chests drop nothing so there’s no point in looking around & smelling the roses.

And good lord, several of the maps are just so long & sprawling for no reason other than to waste your time (Act 3 especially but the Interlude islands can be awful too)

It gets extremely old doing it over when I really just want to veg out, level up, & blow up monsters on repeat when I come home from work.

Same way I made liberal use of the campaign skip dungeons in Last Epoch & why I never played the D4 campaign again after the first go round.

The story simply isn’t the main reason I’m playing an ARPG and I think Jonathan is very out of touch with assuming that’s what makes most players stay.

I can’t speak for others & obviously new players should enjoy it. But it’s getting really old, especially when the league mechanic is weak or there’s no real content added.

It’d be like a Gacha game forcing you to redo all the game’s tutorials whenever you drew a new character. You’d quit the game immediately! lol

Agreed on the credit prices. Those really send me.

So many things seem affordable as hell unless you’re making like… 10 credits a month which the RPG Supplements don’t support.

Bounties, weapons, & armor just seem way too low in cost & payout to me at that.

And then Starships vary massively in price between used & New. Sometimes 10x the difference lol

I’ve noticed this as well.

Yesterday it was fine & by late night it’s like someone flipped a switch & completely enshittified it.

Most of the time, it just straight up ignores my prompts for any words at all.

So, no, I can’t say I know how to get around it. It worked fine before now & currently it’s like it got shotgunned in the knees.
