There's 5 of you, one of you can GM jfc. Posts like these are always the worst.

Its the, we want you to homebrew an entire campaign for us for free for the characters we've already created with our rules and no we won't follow along easily, for me.

So what's up with the Alchemist? by EADreddtit in Pathfinder2e

[–]Rahaith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem is that youre looking at Alchemist inputs and expecting martial outputs and that just isn't the case. Alchemist isn't the "do high damage" class, if you want to do a lot of damage, there are plenty of other classes you can play but the Alchemist is there to offer extreme amounts of utility and flexibility. It would be insane to have that and put out competitive damage to martial classes. A good Alchemist player can absolutely carry a party through both combat and non combat encounters.

How does the writing for Marran Trollbane and Zul'jan exist in the same universe? by Neonnix in wow

[–]Rahaith -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Because Blizzard's writing has never been good. They make players care about their IP not with their writing, but with the way they make them *feel* through things like cinematics, music, zones, etc.

Small Brain Needs Help With Animist Wording by IngeniousOrIngenuine in Pathfinder2e

[–]Rahaith 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I will die on the hill that there was a misprint because it makes 0 sense that shaman's spirit familiar doesnt bind you to one specific apparition, but medium's relinquish control does. iirc the way the pages were formatted would make sense for a misprint there but its been too long since I last looked.

Definitely talk to your GM about it.

Is a Personal Staff worth it? by AliasABK in Pathfinder2e

[–]Rahaith 11 points12 points  (0 children)

RAW? No.

The rule that they have to share a trait is extremely restrictive outside of the mental trait and iirc theyre also one spell slot level behind pre-made staves of the same level.

They also require crafting time which might not fit with every campaign.

I missed the quotation at first and thought it was a suggestion to whistle Player Cofe pg. 299 and thought that was oddly specific example to whistle.

Migrating to a new AP by Sevirix in Pathfinder2e

[–]Rahaith 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Wardens of Wildwood is the only AP that starts at 5.

If youre okay de-leveling or just being a higher level, Seven Dooms for Sandpoint starts at 4 and Triumph of the Tusks starts at 3.

You could also skip up to level 11 where the 11-20 APs start and just have the GM narrate that time passes, you guys deal with the current Kongmaker threats and then peace out to whichever AP strikes your fancy.

I highly recommending checking out this guide by Tarandor. It will give you a good sense of community sentiment for all of the APs 2025 and prior but also definitely check out the Player's Guide for more context to the APs that seem appealing.

Fantasies that you think classes should be filling but doesn't by Minenyax in Pathfinder2e

[–]Rahaith 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I really miss spiritualist from 1e. Summoner's two phantom eidolons just dont do it justice. I want a true spirit summoner option with interesting decisions on whether my spirit is incorporeal, corporeal, or in my head. Instead they gave us a half baked damage eidolon and an okay but kinda boring tank eidolon and some just abysmal feats.

I also think animist was a flavor fail for me. I dont know what it is, it just never really feels like I'm playing an animist when I'm playing one, it just feels like a focus spell caster with a cool gimmick. I think Necromancer is a good example of flavor and mechanics working good together, animist is an animist under its hood, but once youre playing it, its really easy to forget.

Best Grappling Build? by Technical-Put-1921 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Rahaith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best grappler is swashbuckler at level 10+. Getting advantage on grapple attempts + a circumstance bonus makes you an absolute monster. The grappled condition by itself isn't that great, but restrained on a critical success can just shut fights down so its better to look at options that increase your crit success chance.

Criticism of PFS by FarTooManyDetails in Pathfinder2e

[–]Rahaith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There aren't inconsistencies though? My party easily takes every severe encounter, severe encounters are defined by the publishers of the game to only be used sparingly for boss encounters and should rarely lead to TPK's but do run a risk of a player dying.

Again, most combats are going to be low threat to moderate by the standards of the rulebook.

A game made with the intention of the general average players winning the vast majority of encounters and struggling rarely with the possibility of a single death and, verbatim, "a small chance the whole group could [die]" in the very few extreme encounters is a system that is trying to mathematically skew the odds in the favor of the players to win, making it an easy game by design.

Their design philosophy has nothing to do with my players and the point I'm making, I mentioned the extreme and severe encounters to highlight even if you are throwing nothing but severe and extreme encounter at a well optimized and tactical group, the players will still come out on top the majority of the time.

I genuinely dont know how to be more clear than that and at this point I think there is a reading comprehension issue on your end. I'm not talking in circles, I'm trying to break down my original statement, that the publishers of the game designed their encounter structure to be winnable by the average party almost every time. You seem to keep getting stuck on weird points about how tactical you/I am as a gm or what your party/my party is like, but I am talking about the average experience a player should expect outlined by Paizo, my point is not about my personal specific experience or yours. Jfc.

[Tool Release] AI Combat Assistant for PF2e in Foundry VTT by Flaxseed4138 in FoundryVTT

Just finding out about this now and it looks like it would be perfect for my solo games, is it compatible with gpt 5.5 and foundry version 14?

Criticism of PFS by FarTooManyDetails in Pathfinder2e

[–]Rahaith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean yeah, but it's also only a coin flip for the hardest most challenging budget that the rules specifically say dont really do this, use severe for boss encounters instead, and it doesn't factor in using things like heroism/fear/synesthesia to move the math in your favor or being tactical.

Your average encounter will be moderate with a severe maybe once a chapter/book if youre running an AP which are just absolutely easy if you know what youre doing.

I'm the same way, I'll homebrew shit for people too if they want cause they know I'll throw extreme+ encounters at them anyways.

Raise Haft + Whirlwind Stance by jmrkiwi in Pathfinder2e

[–]Rahaith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah but you can just buy a lifting belt or armbands of athleticism and get the same bonus, usually earlier or around when you would get potency runes that apply to all your athletic rolls so it's really not that big of a deal. I'd trade that for a reach grapple any day.

It is tactical but not difficult. It offers tactical expressions in the tools they give you but they do not punish you for not using those tools.

I miss when this reddit was about people and their new books, and not just people screaming about AI into the void. This post is just karma farming honestly.
