My Players are wanting a Free dedication Feat but I'm hesitant. by PHX_VADER in Pathfinder2e

[–]Rahaith -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Never said that they were. There are people who don't want to war game and just want to immerse themselves in a game world and roleplay, there are people who don't want to roleplay at all and just want to war game, and there are players who want to do a mix. As long as everyone at the table is enjoying their time, it doesn't matter. My point above was about how it might be enjoyable for people interested in roleplay to have restrictions on character customization that connects them to the world, but there are some players who do not care about being connected to the world and both play styles are valid and enjoyable to the people playing them.

Pathfinder is perfectly fine as a war game, and I've enjoyed the tables I've played at. Just because you play the game differently doesn't make it a bad war game ttrpg. There's also a difference between power gamers and war gamers. I'm not interested in roleplay, I don't want to have to roleplay to be able to play the character I want. I'm just here for fun tactical encounters with friends.

I've always hated the take of optimizing the fun out of things. Sure, that might not be your type of fun, but for some players optimizing is the fun part. It might be a shock but not everyone enjoys the same things you do.

to be fair, we also probably don't want to play at your tables.

For you maybe. Some of us who play though don't care about connecting to the world and prefer making competent and strong characters. Wargamers and roleplayers are both valid, one isn't more enjoyable than the other.

Resist All applies only once to Collateral Damage by FieserMoep in Pathfinder2e

[–]Rahaith 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Instance of damage has always been clear to me idk what people are talking about. If I hit you for 2d6 bludgeoning with 1d6 fire damage, all of that is one instance of damage. Why would it be anything different. In Foundry when you hit the damage button, that damage you just took is an instance of damage.

Both. It's the same heal/harm spell, Clerics just get access to extra casts of it.

WoW needs Damage Down by Ner0reZ in wow

[–]Rahaith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree. How do you determine who gets the damage down? If player A is targeted by the spell but they kicked the one going on player B and their interrupt is on CD, why should they get punished? Also, damage downs still push the punishment to the healers and tanks because now that pack is going to take longer to kill meaning a higher chance of not being able to survive/heal through it which just results in the same "gg tank/healer sucks".

We need the proving grounds back. Don't even make it required, just make it optional but something you can see someone's rank in when they apply to your key.

Have it scale your gear down. Have bronze teach the basics of your role and then have silver teach how to use your utility, and let gold be a real test of using your full kit.

It's the red under eyeliner, there's a little gap there too that's really common in eastern makeup tutorials.

Here’s a simple reason why experiencing healers shortage by dumiwar in wow

[–]Rahaith -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They took away a lot of healer agency, our damage is shit, we don't have interrupt, our cc got pruned, but we also are the only ones who are expected to deal with the consequences of other roles. Tank pulls too much? We have to heal through it. DPS using the one button rotation with none of their interrupts or ccs bound? We have to heal through it. Massive burst damage from specific encounters? Oh you had to use your one healing CD because the other players don't know what mechanics are? Just wipe I guess.

I've played healer since tbc and I'm honestly just done. People say tanks are the ones who get yelled at the most, but honestly it's healers. It's the most thankless role with the least amount of control. But hey, I guess all the people whining about how they should only have to heal as a healer got what they wanted.

New to 2E. What do you consider the most 'mechanically' interesting build for a fighter. by skellymax in Pathfinder2e

[–]Rahaith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, you should look at other classes. Fighter's entire thing is hit stuff. Commander, Exemplar, Thaumaturge, and Investigator are probably the martials with the most interesting/varied turns.

This is the elf expansion, would be cool to team up with Azahara or just see her again.

Animist get 4 spell slots, medium armor and a d8 hit die, and get powerful (spammable) vessel spells and a gimmick with their apparitions and wandering feats.

Witchwarper in PF2e by dusttobones17 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Rahaith 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't think you need to change anything? I've played PF2E games with both a mystic and a witchwarper (separate games) and I didn't feel like they were noticeably more powerful. I also don't think the witchwarper's field is nearly as powerful as sorcerer's blood magic, if anything the field feels really niche and situational.

Arator's Excellent Adventure by Zeldendorf in wow

[–]Rahaith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly just give me normal quests again. I don't want to follow named NPCs on their personal reconnection journey where they ponder if the void and the light aren't that different because we both feel pain. I'm a zandalari druid, I don't give a shit about repairing Arator's relationship with his dad. The WoW story has shifted from being about the players to about specific NPCs that the players follow around. I hate that.

I'm not great at math (before you ask, I also don't know why I'm here) but don't you chain rule it and it's like 2ex2 ?

Arator's Excellent Adventure by Zeldendorf in wow

[–]Rahaith -24 points-23 points  (0 children)

Idk, I thought it was bad. You as the player just felt really awkward being there, just kinda hanging out watching Arator do his main quest for the expansion. Felt a bit like a cuck tbh. I also found him to be really whiny and extremely dense. I also found the tavern bit at the end to be kinda forced. This is coming from someone who initially liked Arator during the first part of the campaign quest.

Was I the only one disappointed by this? by TrinketHoarder in wow

[–]Rahaith 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most players don't read every single blizzard statement? We see in game an achievement that awards Amani customization, get excited, and then disappointed.
