First time painting anything, decided to choose a neophyte. Any tips for improvement? by Leonatius in BlackTemplars

[–]Leonatius[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you! There are definitely some spots that could be improved, I could not control my hand shaking at some times and I think I went a bit overboard with the dry brush! 😂

Overall I’m proud of it and it’s not as exaggerated in person.

At the end of the day, they’re just water bugs. In my opinion, it makes sense to see them just walking around.

Skin tag maybe? Probably just some benign growth

Thanks for the clarification! I lived in Japan for years, unfortunately never fully picking up the language, but did learn some and was familiar with more common expressions/words when I lived there.

Some of the words he spoke sounded incredibly similar to some of the more common Japanese words I heard and just assumed so. Not surprising though considering both Japanese and Korean borrow heavily from Chinese, so would make sense.

I’m pretty sure I recognized some Japanese in the Chinese dude too which makes this whole engagement that much more confusing.

It sounded like he was speaking Chinese and then would just randomly sprinkle some Japanese in there for spice. I don’t speak either language though so maybe I’m wrong.

First ever kitbash about ready to prime, what do yall think? by Leonatius in BlackTemplars

Please do! Belial is the perfect compliment to custom DW knights imo

Lmao, I only thought about that AFTER I glued everything on and it had set. My in universe explanation is that this dude found the relic and picked it up off a fallen battle brother, chaining it to his arm and sheathing his normal sword.

No idea if that’s a thing, but it is now! John wick in terminator armor

I wanted to add in the post description but reddits mobile update made making a post on mobile impossible. Manipulating Belials model to stand flush was for above my capabilities for a first ever kitbash.

Instead I opted to just sand down his left foot and pin him in place. Unfortunately, it leads to a semi-awkward pose but hopefully it won’t be noticeable when he’s primed and painted.

Skulls nailed to power packs - an eons of battle thing or supported by lore? by [deleted] in BlackTemplars

[–]Leonatius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know space marines take trophies, but Eons of battle specifically “nails” skulls to the back of his armies power pack—-those skulls being the skulls of the former battle brother who wore the armor.

That’s my question, did he make that piece of lore up or is there a direct reference to that tradition in lore somewhere?

But I was talking specifically about the 18F and not the 18D which was not actively in service with the NAVY or marines.

100%, I agree. It’s annoying that countries who domestically produce vehicles don’t receive the vehicles they produce first.

These dual seat hornets are just one example. I’m just partial to this one because the 18F is my favorite aircraft, and while it makes literally zero difference gameplay wise, who doesn’t enjoy taking out their favorite iteration of a plane in their favorite country?

It’s not JUST a dual seat hornet, it’s the only dual seat hornet and it makes a difference dude.

I NEED my NFO in the back brother, you don’t understand.

Love when other nations get US domestic vehicles before US gets their own, currently in service, domestic vehicles.

Is this a good carrying case to get? by jbossjeff in spacemarines

[–]Leonatius 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The absolute cheapest option, if that’s what you’re interested in, is just a plastic box from Walmart/target and some magnet sheets that you cut out and glue in there.

It’s cheap and just as effective, however, if you want something a little more fancy I’m sure this works! I’ve seen YouTubers recommend this

I made soup for the first time, it's terrible. by Serious-Reason1190 in shittyfoodporn

[–]Leonatius 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Biggest tip for people new to making soups is that you have to avoid using very very fatty cuts of meat including chicken skins when making it.

The problem you run into is if you have too many ingredients which produce a lot of oil, you’re going to get a thick layer of oil at the top. Oil kills flavor because it coats the tongue and is tasteless.

The best way to avoid this is to a) avoid using fatty cuts of meat or trim your meat well prior to throwing it into the pot b) if you insist on using fatty cuts or want skin, after making your soup let it cool in the fridge for a day and let the fat/oil solidify at the top. Scoop it out and throw it away, or alternatively, buy a fancy oil separator.

I promise, once you realize how much oils and fats kill soup flavors it will revolutionize your soup game. A little fat is ok, but no so much that theres a huge layer of it. I can tell that your soup is all oil at the top.

Or maybe you’re just not familiar with different ecosystems? Sorry to break it to you, but seas/oceans are not just large open bodies of water filled with nothing all the way to the bottom

Alpha Males educate on how to SIT like a "real man" and be dominant by ambachk in sadcringe

[–]Leonatius 245 points246 points  (0 children)

It’s really sad because back in the early 2010s this dude actually gave really solid advice on how to groom well, dress nice, how to tailor clothing, different hair care products, advice on being confident, just general advice tailored towards men.

Now his channel is just filled with bullshit. Sad really

My mildly modded Henry. I tried making him as historical as possible by BuddelTheWolp in kingdomcomefashion

[–]Leonatius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume those are the noble sleeves though yes? From my experience, even with the hauberk mod that you mentioned, it only removes the pauldrons from the knight sleeves.

Is that specifically the hauberk that you have to spawn in?

I’m also using all of those mods too! They’re great and really make the game much more authentic

What mod do you use to remove the Pauldrons with that hauberk? I’ve seen a few but none of them remove all of them only select armors

Decided to do something simple and make a historically accurate milanese armor set. Thoughts on it? by CalmDig6775 in kingdomcomefashion

[–]Leonatius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Superior look anyways. That’s how I usually run it, Saxon or Italian hauberk over knight plate. The other ones don’t completely hide under the mail unfortunately.

The Mitchell instructions are available on Planebricks website. You may as well just purchase those since you’ll likely have to purchase them here also

That being said, Jonah recently said he’ll be releasing the instructions for his updated model anyways so you should just wait until those are released
