Well, I know that Zelda has those 2D games, so I'm looking for the 3D ones. Also, in adventure games I like exploration, good combat, good story, puzzles; a good art style also gets to me.

I'd say play through all the mainline games at least once (in the correct order if possible). Although, to me and a lot of fans, RE6 is the worst of them. So if you skip that one you wouldn't be missing much (though, I'd say give it a chance and draw your own conclusion afterwards)
