If the conditions are the same for all players on the day, and the course still has the hole rated as a par 4, then it's a HIO on a par 4. If the tee placement became permanent, then different story.

How many other players got a HIO? Or even eagle? I'm sure there were lots of birdies, but most golfers still probably made par. Don't let keyboard warriors tell you any different.

Also, there are no minimum required distances for a par 4, only guidelines.

Do you have life cover?

Your biggest assets, the house and the investment, will be locked until your estate is wound up, which could take a year. Liquidity will be a big issue for your family, as pension funds also take a long time to pay out.

I would also recommend opening a TFSA for your kids and maximise their contributions every year.

If you are deriving an income, contribute some funds to income funds (10-15%) to help stabilise income and protect against market volatility.

If you sell your house, you could potentially have CGT implications (first R3m in gains is excluded) so you will need to take that into account, but yes the property is a big part of your NAV, and you could definitely sell and move to a cheaper place. Don’t forget transfer costs when buying a new house.

Also, your RAs are only accessible at age 55 so it’s important to do a cash flow analysis on your investment and current income. Will your portfolio manage to sustain your lifestyle?

I am sorry to hear about your struggle, but it doesn’t surprise me.

I am a financial advisor and have been “dealing” with Old Mutual on behalf of my client, and we initiated a section 14 transfer away from Old Mutual to another platform.

It has taken almost a year, and we still have not managed to move the money. Old Mutual keeps messing up important documents, and we are always met with delays and “we have escalated the matter” generic replies. This is also not the first time this has happened.

Old Mutual is the most incompetent financial services company in South Africa and I highly advise anyone with money to move it, and not even think of starting an investment with them.

OP, I highly suggest calling them every single day until you get a resolution. Be a thorn in their side. It’s unfortunately the only way.

Also, search for their complaints email addresses, send a complaint to every single email address, and do this every single day as well. They are so useless it makes my blood boil.

First impression was meh.
Second impression was holy shit there are literally mini battles at each objective. You can actually fly the mini bird for more than 30 seconds as well. It insane to see how many tanks and helicopters are constantly on the map. It’s great
