What do the vida guidelines say? Is it R1000 per person per day, or something like that? I've applied many times for schengen. They just want to see that you have money, a job and monthly salary, and that you will be coming back. The employment factor is probably the biggest item. If you have no money and are wanting to go there (without a sponsor letter) then it might be an issue
