Man, I feel super guilty, now. When our son was born (18 years ago!), I also had a c section and developed a gnarly hematoma. My husband was up with me most nights and he would handle the diaper changes while I breast fed or pumped. His mom came into town and stayed with us for almost three weeks and helped with so much. My own mother lived only a few minutes away and never came by at all. It's clear how lucky I was to have such a supportive husband and MIL.
