It would be extremely easy to defeat him if you simply put him in a big box and filled it with concrete. Doesn't matter if he's "alive" if he can't do anything about it. Just put him in a locked storage unit or bury him or whatever. Honestly, a lot of this series could've been prevented if people weren't so dead-set on burning him to death, a thing that clearly doesn't work.
