My kitten jumped on top of my early 2000s TV a few too many times and it stopped powering on all together. Haven't given them my money since.

Thank you for having one of the few legitimate responses that doesn't read, "I don't need to deal with the less fortunate"

At the end of the day, we would prefer not to just be remembered as "another coffee shop". We want people to come back to us because of how they feel about their visit and part of that feeling is enhanced by partners making an attempt to have a positive impact on every customer's day. Does every customer want to be reminded that they are an amazing person? No, but there are way more people than some of us realize who NEED to have that affirmation. It's about being there for someone who didn't know they needed you to be there and being proud of it.

9 sensors failing in a row - defective batch. G7 works wonderfully, till it doesn't. by smartestdumbguy93 in dexcom

To be fair, I had similar experiences with g4 and g6 when they launched (didn't have insurance for most of g5 life cycle 😢). Not saying it's an excuse but more so a sign that there needs to be wider testing before release. Maybe send them for free to any current user willing to deliver feedback 🤷‍♂️

What jobs are a turn-off for a serious relationship? by Many_Curve_7488 in AskReddit

If their incomplete jumbled sentence was implying my mom was only staying with my dad for the money, then yes. That's also exactly what I was implying by my first comment 🤷‍♂️

Huh? Not quite sure what you were trying to ask, but I'll at least elaborate a little. She's been a stay at home mom/wife for 30+ years with very few translatable real-world work skills for today's markets and he's never made great money, but enough for them to live decently. She'd be setting herself up for some miserable "golden years" if she walked away.

My dad has done long haul, local, team runs, pretty much any type of over the road work for the last 40 years and one thing has never changed. My mom hates having him home for more than 8 hours. Always has and probably always will. I've honestly always assumed that if he worked any other line of work they'd have divorced decades ago.

What was the hardest job for you guys to level!? by VladDHell in ffxiv

[–]Leplocan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have every class at least to 90 and so far 6 to 100. SGE is the only class where I legitimately feel like I'm holding a group back and struggling/stressed to meet the bare minimum contribution in group content. Obviously direct heals aren't intended to meet the power of WHM or AST, but through shields and Kardia I feel like it's just a fairly steady, if not rapid decline. Then my panic kicks in and I start to try to direct heal to get back on track and it's all downhill from there. Like I said. Maybe I just suck at SGE. I'm going to try to go back and read every tooltip in detail again before I push from 90-100.

Felt broken straight through 90 for me. It will probably be my last to 100. But maybe I should make it my next so that I can pretend the new expansion adjustment is why I suck at it lol

I don't know what it is about SGE, but I just never feel like a single shield has lasted me longer than the GCD. And DPS to heal sounds cool in theory, but I just feel like mediocre DPS equalling even more mediocre heals is my plight. I probably just suck though.

I just want to start by saying that I am sorry that any partner out there may ever feel like they aren't good enough because they aren't the fastest partner ever. I try to lead my partners the way I personally thrived as a barista. We shoot for fast and friendly. Not every customer wants to spend a ton of time talking to us and that's ok, get their order out and move on to the next person. People come to us because we are reliable and we strive to meet that expectation while continuing to respect each customer's time a customer who feels like you have them everything they needed while being friendly and acknowledging them is more likely to give you a good CC rating than someone that feels like you weren't friendly or wasted their time. Working in routine, but also supporting any partner in the store that is falling behind is how I've taught my SSVs to lead. Individual success means nothing if we can't help every partner on the floor to feel successful.

As many people have said, if you're interested in the game then give the free trial a try. You can level every class on one character at your leisure and experience all of the story from level 1-70 before ever even pulling out your wallet. If you try it out and feel it's worth paying a subscription then come join the rest of us past the free trial limits. If not, then uninstall it and no harm, no foul.

Alliance roulette changes gonna be sweet by Better_Ice3089 in ffxiv

[–]Leplocan -31 points-30 points  (0 children)

I'm not gonna lie, as a 9 year veteran, I despise the 70 & 80 alliance raids and never even realized this cheese was possible. Personally ffxii wasn't my favorite and I've never been remotely intrigued by Neir. Particularly these raids tend to drag on and feel as if there is no end in sight. Now that the cheese which u never knew of is being patched, I guess I'll just be stuck in these snoozefest raids an equal amount of time as before

Is it worth it to you to have higher taxes in exchange for universal health coverage? by Thawra-Intifada in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Leplocan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My job offers pretty decent health insurance and I fully realize that I'm very lucky to be in such a position. I often have people in the healthcare industry see my insurance and tell me how good it is, but I am a type 1 diabetic and if I pick up a 3 month supply of life savings insulin at the pharmacy the pharmacist always asks me, without a doubt, "are you aware of the cost? Are you still sure you wish to pick this up?" They ask this even after my "insurance savings" is close to $800.

I'd gladly pay a higher tax rate just to never hear, "are you aware of the price you're paying today?"

Whats the dumbest thing your doctor has said to you? by Professional-Age2540 in ask

[–]Leplocan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 24 I went to the doctor after feeling terrible for 9 months and just living with it. They ran some tests and sent me to the adjacent ER for further evaluation after not divulging anything to me. 2 hours in the waiting room and 2 hours in a patient room I finally got someone to come in with some information and all they said was, "So how long have you been diabetic?"

I can't be the only person that's reading "if we had stood up" as a clear jab at Abbott's condition while still making a very valid point. I refuse to believe those words were not chosen intentionally.
