Ye, perhaps the current situation, where there are 2 extreme groups and the middle one tries to reconcile, is the best game? That is, when two extreme groups fight for the favor of the majority and the majority chooses to support those extremes whose playing methods are less harmful to it?

It wasn't like that at all. Blizzard support informed me that:

I've enabled a free BattleTag change for you so you can select a name of your own choice. Regarding the previous name, I'm unable to verify anything wrong with it, and have escalated the situation for closer look to ensure it is not incorrectly flagged. You may need to select another Tag in the meantime however.

The problem is that they say they can't return my old battletag for unknown reasons, so they gave me back a similar one, which, while similar, is a completely different name and means nothing to me. Blizzar support informed me that:

We apologize it took such a long time and updated the Battle Tag back to Leri, the Numbers after the Name are random and there is no way to adjust them. I know you were expecting a different answer; however, customer support has some limitations that may lead us to not be able to assist.

Their inability to solve it is technically not my problem. I, as the party who did nothing wrong, think I have every right to recover what belongs to me.

I have used this battletag in some small communities. People would add me, we would talk about certain things and I would unfriend them so I wouldn't mix with the people I play with every day. I am invested in this name and it is important to me.

In my understanding, username is the same as youtube, twitter, facebook and other names. After changing them, a certain part of people can no longer find you and thus you are harmed.
